The army says two Katyusha-style rockets launched from Lebanon landed near the town of Kiryat Shmona. In response, the Israeli artillery fired a barrage of shells into the Lebanese border region of Arqub. Uninhabited areas were targeted in both attacks, causing no injuries or damage. Israel\\\'s minister of military affairs has warned of even tougher retaliation if the attacks persist. Moshe Yaalon has held the Lebanese government responsible for the latest rocket attack. The area has remained mostly quiet since a month-long war in 2006 between Israel and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. But there\\\'s been sporadic rocket firing from Lebanon-- carried out by al-Qaeda-affiliated groups including the Abdullah Azzam Brigades.

US intelligence agencies have been aware of a potential attack 'from the sea against hotels and business centers' in Indian port city of Mumbai.
One US intelligence official said India had been told of an apparent plot to launch an attack from the sea, the AP agency reports.
The official added specific locations, including the Taj hotel, were listed in the US warning.
The reports came as India's navy chief said there had been 'systemic failures' in the country's security and intelligence services.
Three days before militants landed in Mumbai to launch deadly attacks, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had warned the country's police chiefs that India could not afford another attack.
Just the day before that, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who has since resigned, warned that India's coastline needed to be guarded better.
But the attacks last week caught the Indian security services off-guard. The 10 gunmen who attacked a handful of prominent targets in Mumbai killed about 180 people.

It has been 30 years since the US undertook Operation Eagle Claw - a failed military mission to rescue 52 diplomats and embassy staff taken hostage in Iran.
About 90 commandoes, eight helicopters and six aircraft landed in the Iranian desert on the first stage of the mission, but an accident resulted in the deaths of eight soldiers and it was called off.
The hostage crisis lasted for another year after "divine intervention", as some Iranians say, stopped Eagle Claw.
The anniversary comes amid rising tensions between the US and Iran.

Israel seizes vessel, protesters say
Naval ships move in on a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, reportedly killing twenty people, protest organizers and Arab media report.
The last we heard, Israeli soldiers landed on the top deck of the Turkish boat and opened fire," said Adam Shapiro, husband of one of the flotilla leaders. He said he spoke with his wife by telephone around 8:30 p.m. and she described watching the Israeli seizure from her boat.
"After that, we lost communication with all of the ships," Shapiro said. "She said her boat was being chased by Israeli ships and they were trying to outrun it."
According to one unconfirmed report, the other protest vessels had been intercepted and were being led to Israel.
Some of the injured reportedly have been evacuated to a hospital in Haifa.
Flotilla organizers, Arab leaders and Turkish diplomats have already condemned the reported attack. Flotilla organizers say they were carrying first-aid supplies and medical professionals in the event of casualties, but according to Shapiro, "we thought that the possibility that Israeli soldiers would shoot" was a remote one.
Flotilla organizers said they carried no weapons.
The six-vessel flotilla, packed with hundreds of international activists, food and other humanitarian supplies, left Cyprus on Sunday night and was attempting to break Israel's long-standing blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Israel had vowed to intercept the boats, by force if necessary, and tow them to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where passengers would be arrested or deported. Israel says the blockade of Gaza, which is controlled by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, is needed to combat terrorism.
A live video feed from the Turkish boat showed images of Israeli soldiers boarding the vessel and firing some sort of weapons, though it was unclear whether the weapons were live rounds or less-lethal devices, such as stun grenades. The feed was abruptly cut.

It is a nice day and Pingu is out riding his brand new blue scooter. Circling overhead is a Seagull. It squawks, and Pingu hoots back and waves to it. The Seagull then defecates on the scooter, rather annoying Pingu. Pingu goes indoors, cleans up the scooter and puts a cover over it. He then goes outside again. The Seagull is now sitting on top of the igloo, and squawks when it sees Pingu. Pingu makes a snowball and throws it at the Seagull. The snowball narrowly misses as the Seagull takes off. The Seagull retaliates by defecating on Pingu\'s right foot. Pingu cleans himself off, and then spots that the Seagull has landed on the ice nearby. He tries to grab it, but it takes off and flies out of reach. The Seagull lands again, and Pingu has another attempt at grabbing it, but this try also fails. The Seagull lands for a third time, but this time Pingu sneaks up on it from behind and succeeds in getting hold of its legs. The Seagull tries to fly away, and eventually Pingu has to let go. The Seagull circles around, and defecates on Pingu again, this time on his right shoulder. The Seagull then lands to have a drink from a nearby ice hole and is grabbed on the beak by a lobster, which won\'t let go. After initially being amused, Pingu takes pity on the Seagull and tugs the lobster off. The lobster turns on Pingu and follows him into the igloo. Pingu eventually chases the lobster away and back into the pool by banging some pan lids. He pets the Seagull, and just when he thinks he\'s made friends with it, it flies away and defecates on him yet again, right on the top of his head, he shouts at the seagull as it flies away. He goes inside and tells Mother all about it when he\'s been plagued, and she washes his head clean.

North Korea has deported an American veteran who\'d been held since October for alleged hostile acts against Pyongyang.
North Korean officials say they\'ve released 85-year-old Merrill Newman after he apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War, and also because of his age and health condition. The war veteran was pulled from a plane on October 26th while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour. He\'s now landed in Beijing, expressing happiness to be on his way home. Meanwhile, U-S Vice President Joe Biden has hailed North Korea for releasing the man, saying it was wrong to detain him in the first place. Biden has also called for another detained American to be swiftly released.

Beirut has filed a complaint to the United Nations against Israel over its spying on Lebanon. If Israel\'s spying, along with its violation of Lebanese airspace, \"constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and continuous aggression on Lebanese lands, Lebanese people, the military, security, and civilian institutions, then why hasn\'t the UN done anything about it? That\'s one of the questions we\'ll be asking in this edition of the debate. We\'ll also discuss the row over gas between Israel and Lebanon, and see what the chances are of a clash between Israel and Hezbollah.
Guests:
- Historian & Political Adviser, Geoffrey Alderman, (LONDON).
- Prof., Notre Dame University, George Labaki (BEIRUT).
Subjects:
1) Lebanon\'s caretaker Fm has not only filed a complaint to the UN: He has sent similar letters to foreign ministers of nations belonging to the 15-member Security Council, as well as to the Arab League, European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement Iranian President Hassan Rouhani: Will any action be taken against Israel that will change Israel\'s behavior?
- \"Israel\'s continuous aggression constitutes a violation of international law and relevant international resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701
2) On Israel\'s illegal spying activities: the Dangers of the Israeli Telecomm Towers in Lebanese Territory, along with the Telecommunications Ministry announcement that Israel had installed surveillance posts along the border with Lebanon capable of monitoring the entire country: Why such interest in spying on such a vast scale over Lebanon?
3) REAX: \"Israel\'s next war must start in Lebanon\": Headline a few days of the Jewish Press: The next confrontation must start with heavy bombing attacks that would minimize later damage to Israeli cities like Kiryat Shmona, Tzfat, Nahariya and Tveria.
- Israel air attacks inside Syria took place 5 times in 2013: Israel said to stop transfer of weapons to Hezbollah: Yet, other reports indicate most of the long-range surface to surface missiles has reached Hezbolah: Why has Israel not attacked Lebanon, or Hezbollah strongholds?
- Syria spillover increasing chances of Israel attacking Lebanon: Two rockets fired from Lebanon landed close to the northern Israel: Israel responded to the attack immediately by shelling the area from which the attack originated. Possibility: that a Jihad group launched the attack in order to get Israel to attack Hezbollah and to force Hezbollah to divert some of its troops from Syria back to Lebanon.
4) The United States and Hezbollah are in secret talks to deal with the fight against al-Qaida, regional stability, and Lebanese political issues?
- Talks, brokered by the UK, \"are aimed at keeping tabs on the changes in the region and the world, and prepare for the upcoming return of Iran to the international community
5) The Eastern Mediterranean\'s Oil And Gas: Israel and Lebanon have been at odds over their maritime borders for decades, and recent discoveries in what\'s called the Levant Basin could create more conflict?
6) Israel has found comfort in one of its enemies: Saudi Arabia (who has just given 3 billion in military aid to Lebanon): how do u view this alliance vis-à-vis Lebanon?
7) Terrorist attacks inside Lebanon have been on the rise recently, one twin bombings claiming the life of an Iranian diplomat: Do you agree with the Iranian ambassador to Beirut says all recent terrorist attacks in Lebanon were carried out to serve the interests of the Israeli regime?
