Millions of Shia Muslims from across the world have flocked to Iraq\'s holy city of Karbala to hold mourning ceremonies marking Arba\'een.
Arba\'een marks the 40th day since the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, Prophet Mohammed\'s grandson and the third Shia imam. Security is tight in Karbala and other cities across Iraq. Authorities estimate that some 15 million people have braved the cold and deadly violence to attend Arba\'een ceremonies. Dozens of pilgrims have so far lost their lives in multiple terrorist attacks in recent days.

A militia group has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks on the camp of anti-Iran Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization in Iraq.
The group, calling itself al-Mukhtar Army, says it fired 20 rockets and mortar rounds on the camp. It also says that they\\\'ve frequently asked the Iraqi government to expel M-K-O from the country, but they are still there. On Thursday, three members of the terrorist organization were killed and dozens more injured at the so-called Camp Liberty near Baghdad airport. M-K-O members were moved to the camp from their previous location in Iraq. The group is responsible for numerous acts of terror against Iranian civilians and officials. The organization aided Iraq\\\'s former dictator Saddam Hussein in his war against Iran in the eighties.

Zainab, is the granddaughter of Islam\\\'s Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). She\\\'s known as the messenger of the Battle of Karbala during which Imam Hossein and his 72 companions were killed while fighting against Yazid and his cohorts. Zainab led two great missions to reveal the truth, as she unmasked the true face of Yazid, and portrayed who Prophet Mohammad\\\'s household were and what they stood for.
The role Zainab played during and after the Battle of Karbala was the main topic at a conference held in Indian-controlled Kashmir. The gathering, the first of its kind in Kashmir, attracted female scholars, professionals and students from across the region. Participants shed light on the personality of Zainab. Speakers hailed Zainab as the symbol of women\\\'s empowerment and resistance against oppression, as she shook the foundations of Yazid\\\'s rule and bravely spoke out against him. The speakers said it is moral responsibility of every human being, especially women, to safeguard Zainab\\\'s legacy and follow her path. Also at the conference, a special message from the representative of Iran\\\'s leader of Islamic Revolution to India was read. Speakers at the conference believe that such events help the campaigners of truth and justice understand the message of Karbala and the life of Imam Hussein, and pass the lessons to next generations.

Dey 9th in the Iranian calendar or December 30th marks a very special day in the history of Iran\\\'s Islamic Revolution. On that day in 2009, an epic was created by the mass turnout of the nation to show their support for the Islamic establishment following post-election unrest in the country in that year.
On December 30, 2009, Iranians took to the streets in the millions to condemn what was called the \\\"seditious movement\\\" and to show anger for the unrest that took place after the June\\\'s presidential election especially on Ashura-- a day Shia Muslims mark the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Muhammad\\\'s grandson, Imam Hussein (PBUH). After the presidential election, supporters of two of the defeated candidates made allegations of vote fraud. But such allegations were dismissed by the country\\\'s election officials. The guardian council -which based on Iran\\\'s constitution, supervises election- concluded there were no irregularities, dismissing election complaints. But the street protests -supported by foreign powers- continued on different occasions for more than six months. Then on December 30th, the nation poured to the streets to show support for the establishment. That day, the Iranians once more proved that if the Islamic establishment is threatened by the western-backed soft war, they are ready to sacrifice. They sent the message of unity to the entire world. The 2009 post-election unrest and the following incidents proved that the nation has enough insight and they firmly stand against foreign threats.

Ever since the Islamic Revolution in Iran more than three decades ago, the country has been the constant target of terrorism and extremism. Kurdistan the western Iranian Province has been a hot spot for terror attacks that have targeted civilians more often than not.
The Democratic Party of Iran\\\'s Kurdistan and Komalah Party are extremist ethno-centric groups with separatist ideologies. They have their strongholds in neighboring countries and their leaders live in Europe. In the past three decades the two armed organizations have been responsible for the assassination and death of thousands of Kurdish people. The victims\\\' so-called crimes range from collaborating with the Islamic Revolution, to fighting alongside Iran against Saddam Hussein\\\'s invasion of the country, or to simply refusing to pay extortions. In spite of the two groups\\\' common ideology and goals, they are bitter rivals who have had thousands of their members killed in violent clashes between the two.
The Common Target though tells the story of Ebrahim Mohammadi\\\'s assassination; A simple middle aged citizen who was gunned down simply because he had taken up arms against Saddam during Iran-Iraq War. Although the order was issued by a high-ranking DPIK member in Europe, the final bullet that took Mohammadi\\\'s life was shot by a Komalah member. How did this happen? Why a common target between rivals? These questions are investigated in this documentary.

The Syrian army has carried out major offensives against armed terrorists in areas around the capital Damascus and in the country\'s west.
Syrian army units have cleared the shrine of Sayyeda Sukeina, the daughter of Imam Hussein, in Damascus suburbs from foreign-backed insurgents. The militants had used the shrine as a stronghold for months. They had also desecrated parts of the shrine and set fire to the main building. Elsewhere, in the western city of Homs, government troops killed dozens of insurgents when they attacked a Syrian forces checkpoint. Thirty seven militants have reportedly been killed there.

Rights activists have repeatedly called for key figures behind the 2003 invasion of Iraq to be put on trial. Britain, along with the US, attacked Iraq under the pretext that the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. W-M-Ds were never found in Iraq and the war took hundreds of thousands of lives. And now to further show the atrocities committed during the war, the International Criminal Court has been asked to investigate allegations of abuse and torture by British forces in the war-torn country.
