Afghan president Hamid Karzai has given a thumbs up to extend the presence of US troops beyond 2014. However he has also said that the Loya Jirga or the assembly of elders must approve the security pact between Kabul and Washington. Many Afghan citizens want Washington to leave their country. The central issue for the assembly is the issue of immunity for American troops that will remain in the country after the withdrawal of its allies\' forces by the end of 2014. What will this do to Afghanistan? And why does the US want to stay in Afghanistan, when more and more Americans are dissatisfied with the deteriorating socio-economic conditions back home?

Heated talks continue between Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany over Tehran\\\'s nuclear program.
Iran\\\'s Foreign Minister Mohammad Havad Zarif, who\\\'s heading the Iranian delegation, has met with EU\\\'s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on the second day of a new round of negotiations in Geneva. Ashton represents the so-called P5+1 group. Her spokesman Michael Mann says the latest talks were \\\"very substantial and detailed\\\". Zarif has echoed the same remarks, saying discussions have already delved into content and details. However, he added that differences remain between the two sides. Both sides are working to finalize a draft agreement to resolve the standoff over Tehran\\\'s nuclear program. This, as an Iranian deputy foreign minister says any agreement on the horizon is bound to respect Iran\\\'s right to enrichment.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he\'s willing to delay the signing of a deal with the US, known as the Bilateral Security Agreement, or BSA.
Karzai told Afghanistan\'s assembly of elders, called Loya Jirga, that the deal will not be signed by the president until after next year\'s presidential election. This, as the Jirga has met today to discuss the BSA. Under the pact, American troops would be allowed to remain in Afghanistan beyond a 2014 deadline. Kabul has agreed to US military operations under special circumstances and American troops\' immunity from prosecution in Afghanistan. But, ordinary Afghans are angry over raids by American and other foreign troops. And they have held protests against the security deal with the US.

Egypt\'s military leaders have endorsed army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sissi for president, hours after he was promoted to the rank of Field Marshall, the highest position in the country\'s armed forces. Over the weekend, large crowds turned out in rallies calling for the man who ousted President Mohammed Morsi to run for president. At the same time, security forces cracked down on anti-government protesters demanding Morsi\'s reinstatement. Nearly 50 protesters were killed. So what lies ahead for Egypt? Shaheed Aitizaz Hassan: A Pakistani school boy from Hangu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province who sacrificed his life while preventing a suicide bomber from entering his school on January 6, 2014. The school is located at the Ibrahimzai village of Hangu and it is the primary source of education for 2000 students.
Aitzaz\\\\\\\'s action to save his classmates captured the hearts of many in Pakistan; he was hailed as a national hero and awarded with the high civil award of Pakistan Sitara-e-Shujaat (Star of Bravery). Amidst the existing paralysis of action and amidst the purposeful ambiguity being created in Pakistan to not only exonerate Taliban but to make them out into Islamic heroes , the likes of Shaheed Aitizaz Hassan must proudly be raised as a flag under which the forces of correction gather together to assert its will against the gathering Khariji and Takfiri storm.
It is not only a way to remember the great sacrifice of our martyrs but it is also a practical step to gain center stage in the battle of wills that is unfolding; the narrative must be won before the war is won.
To achieve this purpose we produced a documentary with re-enactment of his martyrdom. This documentary with re-enactment contains the footage of real people, his family, his neighbors, his teacher speaking about him and also about the incident.

Abu Bakr Saddique was raised by a woman known around the city of Buffalo, NY as a champion of human rights and a helper of the poor. In his neighborhood of mostly Italian-American immigrants, Saddique says there was one incident that stood out for him in particular.
“I was out front playing. We were in the projects – only black family on the street. And I saw this lady. She was a white lady. She was walking down the street and she was going from apartment to apartment – and we lived in a row house. People were slamming the door in her face. She got to our house, and my mother opened up the door and invited her in. So I’m out playing, everything is tight. We’re on welfare. I go into the house and there was this woman sitting down there – eating. I said, ‘woah, what is this? Man, she’s eating up our food.’ You know? And my mother, it was like she didn’t care. She said, ‘she needed to eat’. She gave her food and she gave her some money. Yes. That’s how she was. And she said, ‘always be kind to strangers’”.
Saddique was six and the year was 1953. He says his mother’s character and behavior in situations like this prepared the ground for his eventual conversion to Islam. Saddique first learned about the religion in fourth grade.
“There was Niagara Street Library. I got a book on the Crusades about Richard the Lionheart. That peaked my interest in Islam because they couldn’t say anything about Salahuddin Ayyubi not being good. I saw Muslims in the 50s – some NOI (Nation of Islam), some orthodox. Malcolm X also used to come to Buffalo a lot in the 50s and 60s”.
It wasn’t until 1973, when Saddique was training at an Army base in Texas, that his interest in Islam began to take shape.

Episode 1 of the ground-breaking new film following the journey of five students as they make their way to the Holy land of Karbala.
Students of Al Mustafa International, the Islamic Seminary of Qom, set out to the lands where Imam Husayn, the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, was brutally slain by the tyrannical Yazid over a thousand years ago. The students will join a current of millions of other people from across the globe who have also been attracted to the land where the ultimate sacrifice took place.
The students will face peril, hunger and thirst and endure exhaustion as well as the heat of Iraq all for the sake of their beloved: Imam Husayn.
What is it about the ancient city of Karbala that captivates Muslims? What makes approximately 30 million people travel there each year?
The ziarat [pilgrimage] to Karbala is considered a sacred journey for Muslims across the world, especially followers of the Shia School of Thought.

Episode 2 of the ground-breaking new film following the journey of five students as they make their way to the Holy land of Karbala.
In this episode, the students step foot into the Holy City of Najaf, where they are thrown into the thronging crowds of the colourful city. Contrary to expectations, the students find the atmosphere to be overwhelmingly welcoming.
Here, the fascinating history of the lands of Iraq are explored. From the ancient civilisations of Akkad and Babylon to the short but sweet reign of Imam Ali [a], Iraq is bursting with intricate meaning. The people of Iraq, despite the adversity that surrounds them prove to be full of love. The pilgrims- and students themselves- show that they have not forgotten their “Master” Imam Ali, whose shrine stands tall in the centre of the ancient city.
The students find a place to rest, and hope to set out to pray at the shrine of Imam Ali the following morning before beginning the walk to Karbala.

Episode 3 of the ground-breaking new film following the journey of five students as they make their way to the Holy land of Karbala.
The journey has begun. The students pray at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali [a] and begin walking towards Karbala. With the steps they take, the students cannot help but think of how the son of Imam Ali and the grandson of the Holy Prophet [s] himself could have been so mercilessly butchered by the tyrannical Yazid.
This episode looks at the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hasan and the rise of the tyrannical Yazid, who used the banner of Islam to gain power against the true representatives of the religion.
