Iran says it will hand international bodies clear and convincing evidence on the role of the supporters of Takfiri groups in the crimes committed in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif posted the comment on his Facebook page, in reaction to the assassination of Iranian diplomat Abolqasem Assadi in the Yemeni capital of Sana\'a. Zarif said that a small group is backing such dangerous moves and fueling clashes in the region and beyond. The top diplomat added that Iran is ready for an international campaign against extremism and sectarianism. Zarif said he delivered that message to top officials in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Russia during his recent tour of the region.

Syrian army forces have cleared the strategic border city of Qusayr of foreign-backed militants after two weeks of fierce fighting. For the militants, losing Qussayr meant a cut off in supply lines of weapons and arms. But for the Syrian government, the city has been a strategic location. Syrian opposition sources say that hardly any insurgents from the al-Qaeda-affiliated group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant are left in the northern city of Aleppo. The UK based Observatory for Human Rights says ISIL militants withdrew from the Inzarat neighborhood of Aleppo after clashes with militants from the so-called Free Syrian Army and other insurgent groups. The Observatory says the foreign-backed F-S-A had earlier overrun the I-S-I-L\'s headquarters in the city. The bodies of at least 42 people executed by I-S-I-L were reportedly found at the base. Meanwhile, some reports suggest that the ISIL has taken the upper hand against the FSA in the city of Raqqah. The al-Qaeda-linked group is said to be in control of several key positions in the city. A large number of people, including civilians, have been killed during the infighting.
