[19 June 2012] Israeli citizen gives up citizenship - English 24 year old Andrey Pshenichnikov is in the French capital with a purpose that goes beyond tourism. This is his passport, the one he wants to renounce. In the past, some Israelis have managed to get their citizenship revoked, but there are no known cases of these Israelis applying for Palestinian residency or a Palestinian passport. Born in Tajikistan before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Andrey Pshenichnikov's parents moved to Russia in search of a better life. And then the family moved to Israel. It took only a little while before he discovered the darker side of his new country. This experience influenced his years as a soldier of the Israeli Defense Forces. Instead, Andrey Pshenichnikov lived and worked at the Deheishe Refugee Camp near Bethlehem, first in hotels and then in construction. He is also open to the idea of settling down in Gaza. Andrey Pshenichnikov says Israeli authorities have black listed him as a terrorist. And he believes, it's easier to give up his citizenship when he's out of Israel. He hopes, his decision will set an example and inspire others to follow. The process to renounce his citizenship could be a lengthy one, one that Andrey Pshenichnikov says he is willing to face.

A new poll gives yet another grim assessment of US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A majority of Americans now say their country failed to achieve its goals in either country. According to a joint USA Today-Pew Research survey, about 52 percent of Americans say their country has not succeeded in Iraq and Afghanistan. A majority of respondents also criticized the U-S military action in Iraq. Views on the failure in Iraq differ little across party lines. However, there\'s division over the Afghan war with more Republicans than Democrats calling it the right decision. The public\'s critical assessment stands in contrast to opinions in 2011 after al-Qaeda-leader Osama bin Laden was allegedly killed by the US in Pakistan.

He said, “I saw Imam Ali (as) turn away from everyone and move away quickly and eagerly.” Have you seen when someone is pursuing something he likes how he moves away from others? He doesn’t say goodbye ten times. He‘s like an arrow that has been shot from a bow! This is a description of how the Imam went away. The man asked him, “Where are you going?” It was midnight when he saw the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), leaving! Now see how the Imam said he wanted to go pray the Midnight Prayer and worship. [The Imam said,] “Nauf, leave me. Indeed my longings take me to the presence of my beloved.” O Imam, may I be sacrificed for you. Worshiping to you is going toward your longings, right? May I be sacrificed for you. It’s obvious that this worshiping is fun and enjoyable for you. “I said, ‘My master, what are your longings?’ The Imam said, ‘The One Who should know, the One Whom I long for knows this Himself. I don’t need to tell this to anyone else.’” See how the Commander of the Faithful talked. This is how he was. Nauf said, “O Commander of the Faithful, I’m afraid of my greed...”He saw Imam Ali’s (as) position. He looked at himself and said he’s afraid! Nauf was a good person. He saw Imam Ali’s (as) longings and what was fun to him. So Nauf said he was afraid of his own greed for this world. He saw that he didn’t have that same enthusiasm the Imam had for worshiping. He asked what he should do. The Imam (as) was surprised. The Imam said, “Why don’t you take refuge with He Who protects those who are afraid and is the shelter of the mystics?” Why don’t you get help from God? He gives refuge. If you’re truly afraid, He gives refuge to those who are afraid. Get help from God Himself! He is the shelter of the mystics. You understood you’re not in a good situation? You understood there is a better situation? He is the shelter of the mystics. He gives refuge Himself. Why do you ask the Imam? What a truly high-level conversation. It is very beautiful and mystical. Nauf said, “Guide me to Him.” I don’t know how to read the words of the Commander of the Faithful (as). The Imam said, “He is the Exalted and Great God. Attach your longings to His good grace.” This is how worshiping becomes something fun and enjoyable! See the Commander of the Faithful’s (as) outlook. The Exalted and Great God will take you to your longings. Don’t you want to be like this?! So ask Him. God will take you to your longings. [The Imam said,] “Don’t you want to worship God like me?!” The Imam didn’t say, “like me.” I’m saying it like this. Don’t you want to worship God like the Imam? God will take you to your longings. What is worshiping my dear ones? Worshiping means you talk about your longings with God and He takes you to them. O God, so worshiping is fun and enjoyable.

Pingu and his parents are enjoying a quiet dinner, but Pingu isn\'t happy due to him refusing to eat his greens once again. Mother and Father decide to share their food. Father gives Mother fish, Mother gives Father greens and Mother tries to give Pingu a brown potato, but he refuses and splatters it all over Mother. Father becomes enraged and tells him off. Pingu then rocks his chair and ends up pulling everything off the table. His parents become furious and Pingu ends up getting a spanking. He tries to make amends, but gets neglected instead and runs away, feeling that his parents don\'t love him anymore. Pingu\'s parents enjoy some quiet time, but they\'re not really enjoying it because they are worried about Pingu because of what time it is and what they have done. Meanwhile, Pingu becomes hopelessly lost. He nearly gets crushed by falling ice, and then comes face to face with three ugly, menacing monster-faces in the snowdrifts. They look like a human skull, a goblin/grumpy dwarf and a dinosaur/dragon. Terrified, he runs and hides in an ice cave. His parents, realizing how late it is, feel pretty bad of how they treated Pingu, so they come out and find him, with Father using his post truck to find him. Pingu notices his parents finding him and shows himself. Happy to see their son, Mother and Father both apologize to him and they take him back home. After Pingu is fed hot soup by Mother, they all go to bed together happily.
