Jannat al-Baqi is the oldest and the first Islamic cemetery located in the city of Medina. The iconic and revered cemetery was demolished by the Saudi-Wahhabi coalition once in 1806 and a second time in 1925. Both Sunnis and Shias have protested against the demolition and desecration of this holy heritage site.
