At least 27 Shiite were martyred and dozens more wounded when two bomb blasts struck crowded markets in northwest Pakistan Friday as shoppers prepared for the Eid Muslim festival. It went off just outside a Shiite mosque in the city's main Qisakhawani bazaar which was packed with shoppers, police said, but it was not clear if the mosque was the target. Most of the victims Martyred when an explosives-laden car blew up in a busy marketplace in the heart of Peshawar, the capital of the violence-hit province bordering Afghanistan. A powerful bomb ripped through the Saraye Alamadar-e-Karbala located in Peshawar at around 19:30 HRS last night it was learnt. The Interior Ministry announced that the polling time has been extended to 9 p.m. local time. Our correspondent Gisoo Misha Ahmadi who is stationed at the ministry reported that polling stations have been ordered to remain open until further notice due to the massive electoral turnout. Tens of millions of Iranians have crowded to the polls to take part in the election in which the incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seeks a second term in office while facing a strong challenge from former prime minister Mir-Hossein Moussavi. After weeks of intense campaigns, turnout appears to be extraordinarily high, with polling stations packed all day. Kamran Daneshjoo, the head of the country's electoral committee, had earlier promised to put in place a strategy to ensure "maximum participation" from the 46.2 million eligible -- aged 18 and above -- voters. According to GeoTV report, LAHORE: Two suicide attackers blew themselves up near security forces vehicles in R A Bazar area of South Cantt as crowds gathered for Friday prayers killing at least 39 people including five security personnel and injuring 95, Geo News reported. "Thirty-nine people were killed and 95 wounded in the attacks," Inspector General Police Punjab Tariq Salim Dogar told reporters after visiting the blast site. "We have collected concrete technical evidence, which will help identify the attackers. Both the attackers were on foot," he added. Five security men were dead and 15 injured in the attack, security sources said. "There were two suicide bombers who attacked two military vehicles within the space of 15 seconds," SSP Operations Mohammad Shafiq told Geo News. "The heads of both attackers have been found," he said. Rescue workers and paramedics rushed to the R A Bazaar, a densely populated area of the city. The area was crowded as the blasts occurred shortly before the main Friday prayers were to start. Emergency has been declared in city hospitals and injured were shifted to CMH and other hospitals. Security forces have cordoned off the area and traffic was blocked. Media was not allowed to go near the scene.

Tens of thousands of protesters crowded central London on Saturday to protest government cuts to public services, streaming in from around the country with banners, balloons and whistles. Organisers of the march estimated that at least 100,000 people were joining in the demonstration, what the Trade Union Council called the largest civil society demonstration in years. Police say some protesters have thrown paint bombs and light bulbs filled with ammonia at officers. A group of black-clad demonstrators also threw paint bombs at shops and banks on the main shopping streets of Oxford Street and New Bond Street. The group had broken away from the larger march organized by the TUC to protest against government cuts to public services.

Terror attacks in Iraq claim more lives. At least 37 people are killed in separate blasts in the capital Baghdad. More than 50 others were wounded in the bombings that hit Christian areas in southern Baghdad. One of the explosions took place near a church where worshippers were leaving. Two other bombs exploded in a crowded market. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts. There\'s been a surge in terrorist attacks and bombings across Iraq over the past year. Authorities believe that the escalating violence is aimed at creating sectarian strife in the country.

I swear to God if you say this sincerely, they’ll write your name among Husayn’s (‘a) helpers on Ashura! Say, “Secondly, I’ve come to help the Imam of my Time. Imam accept this from me!” Women, when you reach Karbala, say Salam (send greetings) to the Imam and Hazrat Zaynab. Then say, “We feel ashamed. We were respected when coming. No one took off our veil. No one whipped us for mourning for Husayn (‘a). We only saw respect.” Some of you have probably come with your families, and the women are listening too. It’s fine if some stand with their families and take a photo. Fine. Have fun. But, remember there was a man who fell to the ground here, and his family was taken captive. Remember this! I don’t know how some people can put their arm on their brother’s shoulders Bayn al-Haramayn (between the shrines) facing the shrine of Abu al-Fazl and say, “I want to take a photo here.” Fine. Have fun! But, in this place a brother lost his brother and said, “Now, my back has broken!” Remember this too. Women, when you reach Karbala, say Salam to Hazrat Zaynab. Then say, “We feel ashamed. We were respected when coming. No one took off our veil.” Cry on the way. When you reach Karbala, these tears will have given dignity to you. When you are there, be drowned in thinking of helping God’s religion and ask Imam Mahdi (‘a.j.) to accept your help.
