Lebanon\'s military tribunal has issued an arrest warrant for Jamal Daftar-Dar. He\'s a prominent member of the al-Qaeda-linked militant group, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades. The man has been a commander of the terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the twin bomb attacks on the Iranian Embassy in Beirut last November. We are now going live to the Lebanese capital for an update from our correspondent there.

An intelligence unit of the Lebanese army has arrested a high-profile terrorist of the al-Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades. The man was involved in a number of recent terror attacks in Lebanon, including the double blasts targeting the Iranian embassy in Beirut last November. Reports say the ring-leader of the al-Qaeda-linked group, Abdullah Azzam Brigades, was a high-ranking official of Saudi Arabia\'s intelligence service. Media reports also say that Riyadh put heavy pressure on Lebanon to extradite Majed al-Majed before his death in detention on Saturday. Meanwhile, Iran\'s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi has said that Tehran doesn\'t have much information about the death of Majed, but it knows he died under suspicious circumstances. Majed was the man behind the recent terrorist attack on the Iranian Embassy in Beirut. His group launched the attack outside the embassy on November 19, killing 23 people including an Iranian diplomat. Over a hundred 60 others were also injured. Majed is also accused of carrying out several terror attacks in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

A security source from Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, says the movement has captured an Israeli drone that was flying over east Jabalia. He did not give further details. Hamas\' military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades on its Twitter account has claimed responsibility for shooting down \"an Israeli mini-drone.\" Tel Aviv has denied this. The Israeli army says a \"skylark\" tactical mini-drone crashed in the Gaza Strip due to a malfunction. Israel occasionally carries out drone attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip that have at times claimed lives.

The Israeli army says two Katyusha-style rockets launched from Lebanon landed near the town of Kiryat Shmona. Machineguns, RPGs and other types of weapons were seized. Militants in Badda, Talfita and Rankous areas which surround Sednaya increased their mortar attacks on the town following their defeat. A shell hit a school while another fell in the vicinity of Saint George Monastery. The Syrian army responded with gunfire.

In a statement posted on the Internet, the group, known as the Al-Nusra Front in Lebanon, says -- Hezbollah and its bases are legitimate targets. The statement comes just three days after the group claimed responsibility for a car bombing in Beirut\'s southern suburbs that killed four people. That was the sixth in a string of terrorist attacks in Lebanon in recent months. Another al-Qaeda-linked outfit, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, carried out a twin bombing in front of the Iranian Embassy in Beirut in November. The attacks claimed the lives of 23 people -- including an Iranian diplomat.

Most of these bombings are linked to this man. Omar al-Atrash, a cleric registered with Lebanon\'s Sunni body Dar al-Fatwa and the imam of a central Beqaa mosque, confessed to preparing explosive devices, suicide belts, car bombs and rockets carried out in the recent bomb attacks. Atrash, along with 12 Lebanese and Syrian suspects belonging to al-Qaida, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades and al-Nusra group, were charged for committing terrorist attacks that killed tens of innocent people in Lebanon.
