On Friday, a Palestinian man was assaulted by Israeli soldiers and settlers in Nablus. Dozens of Israeli staged a rally near the village of Jamma\'in in Nablus during which they chanted racist slogans and called for seizing more Palestinian land. When they were confronted by local Palestinians, Israeli soldiers attacked the Palestinians using tear gas and rubber bullets. 37 year old Ghassan Baker attempted to confront the soldiers who had entered his farm, however he was immediately dragged away and beaten by the soldiers and settlers. Ghassan Baker in the meantime was trying to tell the Israelis that he was wounded and could no longer walk due to injuries and breathing difficulties resulted from tear gas inhalation.

Israeli settlers have attacked a high school in the occupied West Bank, injuring six Palestinians.
The attack took place in the village of Bur, south of Nablus. Clashes erupted between locals and settlers after the incident. Settlers attacked another school in the area on Wednesday, beating up a 50-year-old man. Settlers frequently attack locals and prevent farmers from reaching their lands. The UN says there were over 400 settler attacks in the West Bank in 2013.

Egyptian security forces have once again attacked anti-government protesters joining rallies in several cities, killing four protesters.
Dozens of others were injured as security forces fired tear gas and shots at protesters in the capital Cairo, Alexandria and the canal city of Suez. Several demonstrators were also wounded when thugs attacked supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi in the northern city of Damietta. The clashes erupted when anti-government protesters joined rallies after Friday prayers to denounce plans by Defense Minister Abdul Fatah Sisi to run for president. They are also angry over a presidential law issued on Thursday that installs the defense minister as the supreme commander of the military council. Egypt has been the scene of weekly protests since the country\'s first democratically- elected president was ousted last July.

[26 May 2012] US accomplice to Bahraini regime's crimes - English
The Bahraini regime forces backed by troops from Saudi Arabia have once again attacked protesters in the tiny Persian Gulf littoral state. Security forces on Friday fired teargas and sound grenades at the demonstrating crowds in several towns and villages around the Bahraini capital, Manama. Clashes then erupted between government forces and the pro-democracy protesters demanding the ouster of the Al Khalifa regime. Several people were injured during the demonstrations. The protesters also voiced their anger at the US government for its support of the Manama regime. Anti-American sentiments are high in Bahrain after Washington announced earlier this month that it would resume arms sales to Bahrain. However, Bahraini opposition groups and activists condemned the decision, saying it could encourage further human rights violations in the Persian Gulf country.

In Tunisia, at least five people have been injured after protesters attacked the office of the ruling Ennahda party in the town of Beja.
Earlier in the day, clashes also erupted with police in the northern city of Kef after another office of the ruling party came under attack by demonstrators. This, after the funeral of seven police officers who were killed by militants on Wednesday. Now the government is delaying a national dialog with the opposition. The talks were aimed at ending months of political deadlock, with the opposition demanding the resignation of the government. The world\'s attention is on Syria; a country whose sovereignty is being attacked by western powers and Arab states.
The country is an important one for Muslims worldwide, but not just because of its location amongst other Muslim-majority countries, but because of its religious and political importance throughout history.
It may also be one of a few Muslim-majority countries left that has not been engulfed by a Saudi-led Takfiri culture.
Should Muslims idly wait for a handful of leaders to continue harming Syria\'s sovereignty or should Muslims actively try to protect it.
This week\'s Islam & Life asks: Why should Muslims in Europe be concerned about protecting Syria\'s sovereignty?
