Tel Aviv sends troops into a U-N-designated area separating Lebanon and Israel to collect an Israeli drone after it crashed in the area. Locals and the Lebanese army witnessed the incident but there were no clashes. The cause of the crash is still unknown. Israeli aircraft regularly violate Lebanon\'s airspace. A buffer zone called the Blue Line was drawn between Israel and Lebanon in 2000 after Israeli troops withdrew from southern Lebanese territories. Beirut has repeatedly filed complaints with the U-N over the Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace. But the world body has failed to take any measures to end such violations.

Syrian troops have made more advances, regaining control of key areas in the town of Adra, 30 kilometers from Damascus. During their offensive in the area, the Syrian troops killed a large number of foreign-backed insurgents. The AL-Qaeda linked militants committed atrocities in the area after seizing control of Adra. Members of religious minority groups residing in the city have been the main target of the militant attacks over the past few days. The insurgents executed more than 80 civilians and kidnapped scores of people to be used as human shields. Al-Qaeda linked groups often resort to executions and abductions to frighten the local people.

A section of a gas pipeline has been blown up in Egypt\\\'s Sinai Peninsula, with militants the prime suspects. Security sources say the target of the attack was a domestic pipeline feeding natural gas to an industrial area. There are no reports of casualties so far. Security forces have encircled the area and have launched an investigation. In recent months, militants have repeatedly targeted another pipeline in the region, halting gas supplies to Israel and Jordan. The militants escalated attacks on Egyptian police and security forces following the ouster of Mohamed Morsi in July.

Top professors and scientists in the area of disaster control and related fields from United States, France, Finland, Sweden and Norway attended the event to share their knowledge with Iranian counterparts and colleagues. An Israeli soldier has been killed in clashes with the Lebanese army in the Ras al-Naqoura area. The incident happened after the Israeli soldier tried to infiltrate into Lebanon. Israeli military has also confirmed that one of its forces has been killed along the border with Lebanon. Reports say Israeli warplanes are flying over the region and have violated the Lebanese airspace. A spokesman for the UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon has told Press TV that they are trying to find out the facts over the incident. Andrea Tenenti says UNIFIL has urged both sides to show restraint.

At least five people have been injured in a bomb explosion at a busy area in the Egyptian capital Cairo. The attack came two days after another deadly blast at a police station in the Nile Delta city of Mansoura.
