In this class you will learn about Masking in Illustrator. So there are 3 types of masking in Adobe Illustrator, Clipping Mask which is a vector mask, Draw Inside which is also a type of Clipping Mask but a little different method to use and third is Opacity Mask which is very similar to Layer Mask in Adobe Photoshop. We are going to look at the difference between Live filters and traditional filters, as well as how to apply, work with, delete, edit, and save Live filters as Styles.

In this tutorial we will look at a fast and easy, yet highly optional and precise way of tracing your photos or sketches in Illustrator. The possibilities are endless! This is a new feature of Cs2.

We will start with nothing more than a blank Flash document and 10 100px X 100px thumbnails and from that little bit we will construct this sweet scrolling thumbnail bar. This thumbnail bar will move in different directions depending on where the users mouse is. It will also stop when the user rolls onto a certain part of it and each thumbnail will light up as the user rollover each individual thumbnail! Lots to learn! Have fun with this one!

Check out this super easy to customize and edit preloader in flash! It is based on actionscript 3.0, simple to build and code, and even easier to edit! The beauty of this preloader is you can essentially create it one time and copy the vector graphics and coding to any flash project you are working on and WHAMMO! you have a nice preloader ready to go!

Here is a requested tutorial, actually requested a few times and I had some fun making this one (as I always do!). Anyway in this video we will look at creating and editing gradients, using blend modes with effects, creating and editing masks, and the click and drag multiple shapes tip using the tilde (`) key. In this Illustrator Tutorial we will be using Illustrator CS4 to draw this nice little 3D box which can easily be edited for use in tons of different ways! The beauty of this box is that it is all vector and very easy to use in a wide number of different editing programs! We will take a look at mapping artwork, using the 3D effect, effects in general, creating a reflection, and a bit of masking as well. A bunch of cool stuff to learn as we build a nice little box!

These flames are inspired by a little comment at the end of the web box icon video tutorial also created in Illustrator and fittingly we are going to create these flames coming out of that box! The sweet thing about this effect is it is really different each time and depending on the intensity of your strokes you get varied results which means you can use this in tons of different projects!
