Just days before the national day of Hijab and Modesty, hundreds of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran and other cities to throw their weight behind a nationwide move to confront un-Islamic dress or bad Hijab. Chanting such slogans as, “Hijab saves family and society” the demonstrators urged the government to protect the Islamic law. In the past few years Iran has established a moral police unit, which has been assigned to confront those, who fail to uphold Islamic dress code especially in the summertime; the moral security police caution those who do not observe Islamic dress code properly, both women and men. Islam, like other religions, believes that personal freedom in this field should be exercised in a controlled way, since unrestrained freedom creates chaos, especially in family relations. The demonstrators believe that family and school play a key role in promoting the culture of Hijab in the society, and this is not possible unless the government and the nation work hand in hand.

It is being described as the collision course between Palestine, America, Israel and their supporters. The push from the Palestinian leadership for statehood, the bid that would come before the UN in September has already seen vocal opposition in America.

It is the world's biggest humanitarian crisis and it seems to be getting worse. Thousands of people are on the move fleeing from both war and famine and of all the countries affected, its Somalia which is most stricken with half of its seven million population at severe risk. While the UN sponsored transitional government has complained of food holding by some aid agencies the al-Shabaab militia says these NGO's have no business in the areas they control.

[28 May 2012] \'West loses credibility on Syria\' - English Syria slams the wording of a United Nations Security Council statement on the recent massacre of civilians in the central town of Houla. Ja\'afari said the 15-nation council misinterpreted the words of the head of the UN mission in Syria, General Robert Mood. He was referring to a part in the statement that condemned the Syrian government for the artillery and tank shelling of a residential neighborhood in Houla. Ja\'afari said it was an interpretation of Western states such as Germany and the UK. He added that General Mood had said it was unclear how the mass killings had taken place and that the events needed to be investigated. The Security Council released the statement after an emergency session to discuss the Houla killings. Over one-hundred people were killed and three-hundred others wounded in the town on Friday.

[06 June 2012] 'China supports Syria's sovereignty' - English June Security Council President Li Baodong of China laid out a busy schedule for the month that involves meetings on Sudan -- Guinea Bissau -- Libya -- and other issues. Syria will be a big priority -- he said -- and he was philosophical about the challenges it presents -- especially in the wake of the Houla massacre. [22 June 2012] Water occupation - Remember Palestine - English On December 13, 2011, the French National Assembly issued a 320-page report entitled, The Geopolitics of Water, which dedicated 20 pages to an alleged water war between Israelis and Palestinians. Employing the incendiary term apartheid, the report's lead author, Jean Glavany, accused Israel of usurping Palestinian water sources and showing favoritism to 450,000 settlers who purportedly use more water than 2.3 million Palestinians in the West Bank. This year the UN also reported from the 530 springs they surveyed in the West Bank 30, mostly in areas where Israel retains military control, were taken over by the settlers. It added that Palestinians currently had limited access to 26 other springs where settlers had moved in and threatened to take control. This month, local security forces in Jenin said that the bulldozers destroyed the well near Beit ad village, north of Jenin. The well belonged to a Palestinian resident of Tubas and provided water for tens of acres in Beit Qad plain. Sources added that a handful of military machinery, supported by two bulldozers were in the area during the destruction of the well. The governor of Jenin, Talal Dweikat, denounced the destruction of the well which he described as designed to fight the rights of Palestinians. Dweikat also said that this issue has come to shape an important worry for all districts in Palestine, especially Jenin which has been suffering continuously from similar attacks.

[07 July 2012] Geneva Meeting Clear or Cloudy Sky over Syria - English The latest meeting in Geneva on the current situation in Syria seems to lack executive mechanism as well as true will for its implementation. The special UN-envoy Kofi Annan says the meetings have not helped his plan, while the Syrian opposition outside the country has failed to form a unified political stance. Russia accuses the United States and its Western allies of trying to distort a previous deal reached by world powers on Syria in the Geneva meeting. On June 30, an agreement was made during the Geneva meeting on a Syrian-led transitional governing body that "could include members of the present government and the opposition and other groups, and shall be formed on the basis of mutual consent."

[13 July 2012] Yemeni protesters call for ouster of corrupted remnants - English Yemeni protesters took to the main streets of the capital Sanaa demanding the ouster of corrupted government officials who are still in power after months of anti-regime demonstrations. They called for an end to the deeply rooted government corruption.The protesters also called on President Mansour Hadi to take decisive measures to strip Saleh-era and corrupt officials of their positions in the new government. The Friday protest came a day after the UN Envoy to Yemen Jamal Ben Omar held a press conference in the capital Sana'a in which he discussed the mechanism of the power transition which will take place in the near future

[13 July 2012] Gangs kill Syrians to show deterioration - English Syria has announced that terrorist groups were behind the killing and wounding of tens of people in the village of al-Treimseh in the east of the country.Eye witnesses who appeared on Syrian TV said terrorists attacked, destroyed and burned scores of the houses in al-Treimseh, on the outskirts of the city of Hama, on Thursday, killing dozens of civilians, Syrian Arab News Agency reported. Damascus said the Western and some Arab media are working with the armed terrorist gangs to sway public opinion against Syria and its people by accusing the government of the killings on the eve of a UN Security Council meeting. Syria has been gripped by more than 16 months of unrest.

[29 July 2012] West Bank under fire - Remember Palestine - English A number of NGOs including UNICEF and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as well as Palestinian Al Haq and the Israeli Yesh Din, issued yet another statement on the continued rise in settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The statement which states there has been an astounding 150% increase in settler violence since 2009 comes just a few days after a lethal attack on a Palestinian who was repeatedly stabbed by settlers after just being shot by Israeli soldiers. A report from the Palestine Center published this year identifies three potential causes for settler violence; it\'s response to Israeli government actions; it\'s a product of demographics and security arrangements; it is a response to Palestinian violence. The report also states that while Israeli settler violence is not new, the extent and frequency with which it is perpetrated today is new.
