Turkey's smear campaign against the Syrian government is much worse than the propaganda spread by Arab media to tarnish the image of Damascus with regards to its recent unrest.
While Syrian officials and residents of crisis-hit Syrian regions have repeatedly said that armed groups are responsible for the deadly clashes in the country, Turkey has tried to portray Iran and the Lebanese Resistance Movement, Hezbollah, as being behind the unrest in Syria and that they help Damascus quell protests.
The Turkish NTV news channel recently claimed that the Syrian soldiers who refused to open fire on protesters were shot dead by their commanders.
The broadcaster reported that a Syrian soldier taking refuge in the country says that he and his comrades were trying to avoid hurting protesters by firing warning shots, but those who refused to open fire on protesters were shot dead.
"I've seen Iranians and Hezbollah operators giving instructions to shoot, and those who refused were immediately shot dead," the alleged fugitive Syrian soldier told NTV, adding that the soldiers were mostly shot from behind or in the neck.
The Turkish broadcaster has also claimed that Syrian forces have opened fire on unarmed civilians in al-Rastan.
"We opened fire on everyone, the young, the old... Women were raped in front of their husbands and children," the army defector told NTV.
Political analysts in Middle East affairs have accused Ankara of playing a double game -- claiming to support the Damascus government in order to have greater influence in the Middle East, while at the same time supporting and providing a safe haven for armed gangs seeking to incite revolt in Syria.
Iranian analyst Hadi Mohammadi says that the United States has now formed operational headquarters in southern Turkey close to the border with Syria to direct the riots in the Arab country after its attempts to cause unrest in southern Syria were unsuccessful.
Mohammadi said that the United States has assigned Turkey to carry out its anti-Syria plan. It has hence provided aid to the Turkish Army to assist Syrian dissidents in crossing into Turkey and settle in tent villages set up in Turkey's Hatay Province.
Meanwhile, a mass grave with bodies of at least 10 Syrian security forces was discovered near the northwestern town of Jisr al-Shughour on Monday.
Syria's state TV says the victims were killed by armed gangs and the bodies bore marks of torture.
Heavy clashes were reported as troops and tanks moved into the city on Sunday and gunmen targeted civilian areas including a hospital.
The government says it entered the town to restore order after some 120 security forces were killed there about a week ago. People in Jisr al-Shughour gathered to thank government troops for protecting them against the gunmen.

With all the different current events going on in the world, we all really need a funny, relaxed, refreshing, and yet eye-opening commentary on it all.
Sayyid Shahryar\'s here to humbly shed a little insight into all that\'s going on around the world; past, present, and perhaps even future.
In this episode of \'Keepin\' It Real\', we\'re going to be talking about \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey Again?!\', in our part 2 of 2 titled \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey Again?!\' [Emphasis on the \"Again?!\"], because you can never have enough of Thanksgiving.
If you haven\'t checked out the previous episode on Thanksgiving, titled \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey!\', [Emphasis on not having an \"Again?!\" in its title], then please do so, otherwise many of the intricate issues discussed in this episode might not make much sense to you, and that would be quite unfortunate.
So with the pleasantries aside, what is \'The National Day of Mourning\', where does it occur, how often does it occur, why does it occur, when does it occur, and at this event, what is it that occurs?
And what is the \'Indigenous Peoples Sunrise Ceremony\', where does it occur, how often does it occur, why does it occur, and when does it occur?
Who is Mr. Frank James from the Wampanoag Tribe and what does he say about the Wampanoag\'s welcoming of the Pilgrims?
And why is it that whenever there is murder and destruction, there is always someone making money?
So, what are we talking about when we\'re talkin\' about money, well the following questions and their answers in the episode will blow you away:
How many millions of whole Turkeys are eaten yearly on Thanksgiving? [answer is more than you expect]
What percentage of whole Turkey sales during the year, occur just in Thanksgiving? [answer is less than 100 percent]
Approximately, how many millions of dollars were spent on Thanksgiving in the year 2020? [answer is way more than $100 million]
Approximately, how many millions of dollars were expected to be spent on Thanksgiving in the year 2021? [answer is way more than the previous figure]
And how many millions of dollars are spent just on stuffing on Thanksgiving? [watch the episode for answer]
How many millions of boxes of stove top stuffing are sold by Kraft from October through December, which includes Thanksgiving? [millions of boxes!!]
What percentage of Campbell\'s cream of mushroom soup sales occur around Thanksgiving? [answer is more than 39.9%]
How many millions of pounds of cranberries are purchased at Thanksgiving? [millions of pounds!!]
And what just coincidentally happens to be the busiest travel day of the year in the United States of America?
And what also just coincidentally happens to be the two largest online shopping days of the year in the United States of America?
Approximately how many millions of duped and bamboozled American consumers shopped online or in-store starting from Thanksgiving, to Black Friday, and thru Cyber Monday in just the year 2020 in the U.S.A? [the answer is unbelievable, unimaginable, and sickening]
How many billions of dollars were spent by duped and bamboozled American consumers on Black Friday, just in the year 2020? [the answer is in billions!!]
And how many billions of dollars were then spent by duped and bamboozled American consumers on Cyber Monday, just in the year 2020? [the answer is in billions!!]
And with all this crazy amount of money that we\'re talking about, where in the world do these Americans get all this money from; I mean, who in the world has this much cash in hand?!?!
Aaand second to last, what are just a few, but hard hitting statements of the Native Americans themselves as regards to \'Thanksgiving\'?
And finally, what are 5 humble suggestions that we have at \'Keepin\' It Real\' when it comes to the mythical and historical \'Thanksgiving\'; and \"Can You Please Pass the Turkey Again?!\"
Hey, we\'re just \"Keepin\' It Real\".

[27 June 2012] Turkey after NATO intervention in Syria - English
Turkey has deployed a large number of tanks and other armored vehicles to the Syrian border amid rising tensions with Damascus over the downing of a Turkish fighter jet by the Syrian army.
The move comes hours after Turkish Prime Minster Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to retaliate against Damascus over the downing of its fighter jet.
Erdogan said that Turkey changes the rules of engagement with Syria and branded its former ally as "a clear and imminent threat".
Syrian military says that it had engaged the jet in the Syrian airspace "according to the laws that govern such situations."
NATO has condemned Syria's downing of the Turkish jet as 'unacceptable' and promised support for Ankara.
Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi on Monday warned NATO against forging any anti-Syria conspiracy on the downing of the Turkish fighter jet.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Ali al-Ahmed, director of IGA, to hear his opinion on this issue.

Syria\'s grand Mufti says Turkey is behind the abduction of two Orthodox bishops of the city of Aleppo.
Sheikh Ahmed Badreddin Hassoun says the two bishops are alive and being held in Turkey. He says Chechen militants colluded with Turkish special services to kidnap them. Metropolitan Paul of Aleppo and Metropolitan Gregory of the Siro-Jacobite Church were abducted near the Turkish border in April. Rumors circulated that both of them were killed, however the rumors were later denied. The metropolitans were said to be working on resolving humanitarian problems in the northern village of Kafr Dael when they were abducted. The Syrian cleric believes their abduction could be linked to Ankara\'s requests for the transfer of the seat of the Antioch patriarchate from Syria to Turkey.

A senior commander of the so-called Free Syrian Army has reportedly gone missing in Turkey.
Colonel Riyadh al-Asad is said to have disappeared ten days ago. Social networking websites say the news has been announced by his family. Asad is said to have gone missing after two top commanders of the Free Syrian Army, Salim Idris and Oqab Saqar, called him for a meeting in a location in Turkey. Social networking sites blame the Turkish government as well as the Syrian opposition groups in Turkey for al-Asad\'s disappearance.

Turkey has sent over 47 tons of weaponry to insurgents in Syria since June.
Based on UN records, Turkey has sent varying amounts of guns to militant groups in Syria, with the highest reaching nearly 29 tons in September. The Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman initially denied the statistics but later confirmed that the UN numbers were based on previous records from the Turkish Statistics Institute. Back in November, authorities seized nearly 1-thousand rocket heads after searching a truck in the southern city of Adana. At the time, the city\\\'s governor claimed that the operation proved Turkey was not supporting radical groups in Syria.

With all the different current events going on in the world, we all really need a funny, relaxed, refreshing, and yet eye-opening commentary on it all.
Sayyid Shahryar\'s here to humbly shed a little insight into all that\'s going on around the world; past, present, and perhaps even future.
In this episode of \'Keepin\' It Real\', we\'re going to be talking about Thanksgiving in our Thanksgiving special, so \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey?!\', as you watch our part 1 of 2 episode titled \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey?!\'.
But seriously, what is the reality of this almost mythical event that is celebrating yearly in the United States of America, and is commonly known as \'Thanksgiving\'?
And according to the \'Thanksgiving\' myth, where and when did the first glorious \'Thanksgiving\' take place?
According to the myth of \'Thanksgiving\', who were the people that attended this mythical first \'Thanksgiving\'?
And despite it being an incredibly derogatory term, who does the term \'Injuns\' refer to?
According to the myth of \'Thanksgiving\', how long did the first mythical \'Thanksgiving\' take; i.e. how many days?
Yet, despite this crazy colonialist propaganda regarding the mythical \'Thanksgiving\', what is the actual historical truth about the first \'Thanksgiving\'?
And if the accurate history of the Native Americans was taught in American universities and schools, would we at \'Keepin\' It Real\' even have to talk about the subject?
What does Mr. Phillip Deloria, scholar of Native American History at Harvard\'s History Department say about the aforementioned question?
According to certain historians, for how many years were the Native Americans living in the Americas, which includes the United States of America?
(hint: well over 10,000 years!)
What was the name of the Native American tribe that lived in the area of Massachusetts when the infamous Pilgrims arrived and were present in the area when the first historical \'Thanksgiving\' took place?
Who was Chief Ousamequin and what does the Native American term \'Sachem\' mean?
What does Illuminative.org have to say about all this?
What was \'Indian Fever\', where did it come from, and approximately how many Native Americans were killed by it?
What was \'King Phillips War\', who was \'King Phillip\', approximately how many people died in this war, and why would we bring it up in this episode where we\'re talking about the myth of \'Thanksgiving\'?
What in the world is a \'Moniker\' and what is its relation to white racist supremacism in the context of \'King Phillip\'?
And why are Native Americans incorrectly known as \'Indians\' and what does Christopher Columbus have to do with this colossal mishap?
And finally, [thank God], who is Chief Metacomet and why do we call him Chief Metacomet ibn Ousamequin, and in the end, what happened to his head and his tribal allies?
And please forgive the Islamic Pulse team, because we really do try to keep the host of \'Keepin\' It Real\' from talking this much.
And yes, we know, the correct spelling of \'Thanksgiving\' is not \'Tanksgiving\'. but thanks for your help anyways.
And kindly don\'t forget to watch our Thanksgiving Special conclusionary episode titled \'Can You Please Pass the Turkey Again?!\' [Emphasis on the \'Again?!\'], which will be released much sooner than you expect.
Hey, we\'re just \"Keepin\' It Real\".
