The blessed month of Sha\'ban is quickly coming to an end.
Still, this blessed month is the month of the birth anniversary of the Imam of the Age, Imam al-Mahdi (atfs).
This beautiful Nasheed by famous revolutionary poet Sadeq Ahangaran speaks of the ending of the age of separation and the beginning of the age of the reappearance. The original anthem was recited by Ahangaran during the Sacred Defense.
This dark night will surely come to an end, but only if we bother to do something.
May Allah hasten the return of our Yusuf, the love of our hearts, Imam al-Mahdi.

What are some important points about the 15th of Sha\\\'ban?
What do some of the Mufasireen, the exegetes, of the holy Qur\\\'an say about the 15th of Sha\\\'ban when compared with the Laylatul Qadr of the holy month of Ramadan?
Finally, how does the famous tradition of Thaqalain from the holy Prophet Muhammad (S) relate to all this?
In order to answer these questions we invited Shaykh Muhammad Husayn from Trinidad and Tobago, to sit down with us and discuss \\\"The Night of Thaqalain\\\" and this great Eid, the 15th of Sha\\\'ban, the birth anniversary of the Awaited Savior, Imam al-Mahdi (A).
Our heartiest congratulations to the whole of humanity on the auspicious Eid, the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Imam of the Age, the Awaited Savior of Humanity, Imam al-Mahdi (A).

What is one of the things that the Almighty Allah revealed to the holy Prophet Muhammad (S) on the Night of Me\\\'raj?
What does it mean when it is said that the people of the Hereafter don\\\'t \\\'sleep\\\'?
What does it mean when it is said that the \\\'heart\\\' is always awake?
And what are the two interpretations of the term \\\'the heart is always awake for the people of the Hereafter\\\'?
Is it possible to be physically asleep, but have one\\\'s \\\'heart\\\' be spiritually awake?
Finally, how is it possible to \\\"Develop Spiritually As You Sleep\\\"?
The late Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi (R) provides us with a short, but profound lesson on the basics of loving Allah.

Lyrics:
A blinding flash of white light
Lit up the sky over Gaza tonight
People running for cover
Not knowing whether they're dead or alive
They came with their tanks and their planes
With ravaging fiery flames
And nothing remains
Just a voice rising up in the smoky haze
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight
Women and children alike
Murdered and massacred night after night
While the so-called leaders of countries afar
Debated on who's wrong or right
But their powerless words were in vain
And the bombs fell down like acid rain
But through the tears and the blood and the pain
You can still hear that voice through the smoky haze
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight

What is the reality of the Night of Qadr?
Why is the Night of Qadr referred to as the holy Prophet (S) in some of the traditions?
And who does it refer to in the present-day?
What is the reality of the Imam of our Time (A)?
And what are some of the attributes of Allah which descend upon the heart of one who has the capacity for it, on the Night of Qadr?
And what are some of the things that are determined on the Night of Qadr?
Finally, who is the true leader who is guiding the Muslims in today\\\'s present-day?
In this Scholar Clip, Shaykh Farukh Sekaleshfar answers these questions and more as he speaks about \\\'The Reality of the Nights of Qadr\\\'.
Our salutations to all the believers, across the world upon the Night of Qadr. May all of your prayers be answered.
And we pray for the advent of the Imam of our Time (A).

Hence the developments relating to Karbala\\\\\\\' are quite clear and all of them are throughout a matter of great honor and pride. But we have disfigured this shining historic event to such an extent and have committed such a monstrous treachery towards Imam Husayn (\\\\\\\'a) that if he were to come and see, he will say, \\\\\\\'You have changed the entire face of the event. I am not the Imam Husayn that you have sketched out in your own imagination. The Qasim ibn Hasan that you have painted in your fancy is not my nephew. The \\\\\\\'Ali Akbar that you have faked in your imagination is not my aware and intelligent son. The companions that you have carved out are not my companions.\\\\\\\"
We have fabricated a Qasim whose only desire is to become a bridegroom and whose uncle\\\\\\\'s wish, too, is to have him wedded. Contrast this one with the historical Qasim. Reliable histories report that on the night of \\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\' the Imam (\\\\\\\'a) gathered his companions in a tent whose location, as described by the phrase \\\\\\\'inda qurbil-ma\\\\\\\', was the place where water used to be kept, or near it. There he delivered that very well-known sermon of the night preceding \\\\\\\'Ashura\\\\\\\'. I do not want to mention its details here, but, to put it briefly, in this sermon the Imam told them that every one of them was free to depart and leave him to confront the enemy alone. The Imam did not want anybody to stay just for considerations of courtesy or to remain out of compulsion, or even to think that they were obliged to do so by virtue of the allegiance (bay\\\\\\\'ah) they had given him. Hence he tells them, \\\\\\\"You are all free, my companions, members of my family, my sons, and my nephews-everyone-to leave without being liable to anything. They [i.e. the enemy\\\\\\\'s forces] have nothing against anyone except me. The night is dark. Take advantage of the darkness of the night and depart. They will definitely not stop you.\\\\\\\" At first, he expresses his appreciation for them and tell them, I am most pleased with you. I do not know of any companions better than mine, and no better relatives than the members of my family.\\\\\\\"
But all of them tell him, in unison, that such a thing was impossible. What answer will they give to the Prophet on the Day of Resurrection? What will happen to loyalty, to humanity, to love and attachment? Their ardent responses and their words said on that occasion melt a heart of stone and are most moving. One of them says, \\\\\\\"Is one life worth enough to be sacrificed for someone like you? I wish that I were brought to life seventy times to die seventy time for your sake.\\\\\\\" Another says, \\\\\\\"I would lay down a thousand lives for your sake if I had them.\\\\\\\" Another says, \\\\\\\"If I were to sacrifice my life for you and my body were burnt to ashes and the ashes were cast to wind, and were this done a hundred times, I would still love to die for your sake.\\\\\\\" The first to speak was his brother Abu al-Fadl, and then the Imam changed the subject and told them about the events of the next day, informing them that they all would be killed. All of them receive it as a great good news.

1- Feel the resemblance between the “Night of Destiny” and the “Resurrection Day.”
2- Be optimistic and pray for forgiveness, our wishes, and particularly for getting close to Him.
3- Be restless to achieve closeness to God.
4- The faithful should resemble the sinful in showing empty hands to God. The sinful must pray like the faithful with hearts filled with certainty as to God’s Kindness and Generosity.
5- Attract God\'s Compassion by being kind to others (by forgiving and praying for them).
6- Be generous by praying for others.
7- Help those in need, and be kind to relatives.
8- Show kindness to our parents, pray for our spiritual leaders.
9- Ask for a good livelihood and the destruction of those who bring about poverty.
10- Join the prayer gatherings with other people, at least for a part of the night.
11- Recite supplications, which are appropriate with our mood.
12- Read some of the Qur\'an.
13- Reflect and evaluate ourselves.
14- Think about the moment when we leave this life and review our will.
15- Don’t neglect remembering and thinking about Imam Ali (‘a).
16- Continually feel the presence of the living Imam, al-Mahdi (‘aj).
17- Plan for our future and changes to be made in our behaviour.
18- The third “Night of Destiny” is the night to pray for the coming of Imam Mahdi (‘aj).
19- Pray for a good destiny and martyrdom in the way of God (if one wants).
20- Make a pilgrimage to Imam Husayn’s (‘a) shrine, or send your greetings to him from far. Pray for the martyrs.
I ask for your prayers,
Alireza Panahian

==============================
In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The holy month of Ramadan is a celebration of our spirituality.
There is a celebration in the believers’ hearts that they are the special guests of the Almighty God.
We see the peak of God’s affection to us in this dear month.
More than thinking of how to have affection for God,
we should be busy thinking about God’s affection and grace toward ourselves.
We should feel ashamed and thankful so that our worshiping during the month of Ramadan
be full of emotions and feelings due to these two aspects.
We should be thankful for God’s abundant grace and feel ashamed that we are unable to respond appropriately to the Almighty God.
Perhaps it’s better if during this holy month of Ramadan, we don’t go to God in order to get something.
Rather, we go to Him to respond and thank Him for what He has given us up until now.
Many ask for forgiveness, ask for their needs, ask for their future and ask to have a good end. These are good.
But we should keep in mind that what is more obligatory is to be thankful about what God has given us.
“If you give thanks, I will increase you.” [Qur’an 14:07]
If we are thankful, whatever we want will be given to us in more abundance.
If we worship God thankfully during the month of Ramadan,
then the whole world will see that the Muslims and the believers are the most cheerful people.
We also fast during the Eids. Fasting brings cheerfulness.
This should be shown to the people of the world.
Those who measure societies\' cheerfulness
should measure the cheerfulness of the believers and the Islamic nation.
They will see that no community is as cheerful as the believers are, especially during the month of Ramadan.
In each month of Ramadan, the believers gain one year’s thankfulness, happiness, vitality and cheerfulness.
Along with other prayers and supplications, it is necessary for us to remember the Imam of the Time (aj) during the holy month of Ramadan.
We feel ashamed and are thankful to the Imam (aj) because he is praying for us.
We feel ashamed that with all the claims we make and although we are calling him, we have not yet been able to bring to an end the Imam’s being alone.
We are ashamed that we haven’t been able to prove our claim to the people of the world
and to prove to our children that we want to help the Imam.
There are some people who deserve to be able to help him.
But it seems we haven’t all been accepted in this way, because he is still in occultation.
The month of Ramadan is a month when Imam Mahdi (aj) should be remembered.
The month of Ramadan is a month for worshipping.
Perhaps we can say the top of the supplications for the month of Ramadan is the “Iftitah Supplication.”
One fourth of the Iftitah Supplication is about the Imam of the Time (aj) and matters related to him, which are actually outstanding points.
I wish we were able to read the Iftitah Supplication every night during this holy month of Ramadan
and remember the Imam of the Time (aj).
We consider the night before the 15th of Sha’ban to be a night that is related to the Imam of the Time (aj) since this night is the anniversary of his birth.
In the same way but due to other aspects, we should consider the month of Ramadan, especially its last ten nights, to be related to the Imam of the Time (aj) and remembering him.
During the Nights of Destiny, the file of our deeds is shown to him and he signs our file.
The last ten days [of this holy month] are the nights when we should recite the magnificent supplication, “Allahumma Kun Li Waliyyak al-Hujjah…”
Whatever we ask for from God, He gives to us based on the signature, management, guardianship and supervision of Imam Mahdi (aj).
We pray that the Imam of the Time (aj) himself will intercede for us so that we will have a cheerful month of Ramadan that is filled with remembering Imam Mahdi (Aj).
I ask all the believers to pray for me.

Movie - The Battle of Khaybar - The Victory of Ali - Arabic sub English. A short film depicting the conquest of the Fort of Khaybar by the Muslim Army, led by the Holy Prophet and Imam Ali. After the failure of Abu Bakr and Umar to succeed in conquering the fort, the banner of Islam fell to Ali, who single handedly killed Marhab, the chief of the Jews, and then went on to slay Harith, the commander of the Jews. After the death of the two "lions" of the Jewish tribe, the fortress the Jews had been hiding behind was conquered and the Muslims were victorious. It was the courage of Ali, instilled in him due to his immense and unswerving faith in Allah which brought the Muslims victory, it was in this battle that the Prophet announced that the fortress of Khaybar would be conquered by a man whom Allah and His apostle love dearly, it was in this battle that the Prophet of Islam cured the eye ailment of Ali with his own spit, it was in this battle that the Companions of the Prophet remained awake all night yearning to receive the banner of Islam from the Prophet, only to have their hopes shattered when the Prophet called out "Where is Ali, bring Ali to me". It was in this battle that Ali manifested the strength endowed upon him by Allah and tore through the ranks of the Jews, killing those who challenged him and inflicting awe into those who fled from him, leaving none with the strength to stand in front of him on the battlefield, as Ali himself says "I swear by Allah that whoever approaches me in battle shall not leave the battlefield alive, and whoever does shall not have the courage to return and face me". Read more about the battle here: http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=3046 The Hadiths from Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 520 and Number 521 prove the victory occurred at the hand of Ali, and NONE but Ali, with the power of Allah. Read the Hadiths from Sahih Bukhari here: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/059.sbt.html#005.059.520 "Narrated Salama: Ali remained behind the Prophet during the Ghazwa of Khaibar as he was suffering from eye trouble. He then said, "(How can) I remain behind the Prophet ," and followed him. So when he slept on the night of the conquest of Khaibar, the Prophet said, "I will give the flag tomorrow, or tomorrow the flag will be taken by a man who is loved by Allah and His Apostle, and (Khaibar) will be conquered through him, (with Allah's help)" While every one of us was hopeful to have the flag, it was said, "Here is 'Ali" and the Prophet gave him the flag and Khaibar was conquered through him (with Allah's Help)." "Narrated Sahl bin Sad: On the day of Khaibar, Allah's Apostle said, "Tomorrow I will give this flag to a man through whose hands Allah will give us victory. He loves Allah and His Apostle, and he is loved by Allah and His Apostle." The people remained that night, wondering as to who would be given it. In the morning the people went to Allah's Apostle and everyone of them was hopeful to receive it (i.e. the flag). The Prophet said, "Where is Ali bin Abi Talib?" It was said, "He is suffering from eye trouble O Allah's Apostle." He said, "Send for him." 'Ali was brought and Allah's Apostle spat in his eye and invoked good upon him. So 'Ali was cured as if he never had any trouble. Then the Prophet gave him the flag. 'Ali said "O Allah's Apostle! I will fight with them till they become like us." Allah's Apostle said, "Proceed and do not hurry. When you enter their territory, call them to embrace Islam and inform them of Allah's Rights which they should observe, for by Allah, even if a single man is led on the right path (of Islam) by Allah through you, then that will be better for you than the nice red camels. Do you have problems Don’t come to Arbaeen!
Agha AliReza Panahian
We should pay attention to what God is expecting in these calm and quiet tests. Some of the tests are with a great commotion, and they clarify our duty. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities.
In many cases, the tests for reaching to the highest degrees of closeness to God, are very delicate and quiet. The people of Kufa said, “What should we do now? What will happen? We can’t leave Imam Husayn (‘a) alone. We invited him ourselves. Let’s wait until he comes.” Then they realized that Imam Husayn (‘a) won’t come. Hurr and his troops had stopped them. And Ubaydullah was preparing an army.
They were thinking about what to do. People like Sulayman bin Surad were thinking. Then suddenly what happened? They brought the pure heads into the city. They blamed themselves, “We didn’t know such a tragedy would come about!”
Thousands of people formed the Tawwabin (repenters) uprising. All of them knew that they were going to be killed, and they were killed. There was no use for what they did in history, and they didn’t gain the advantage of being in Karbala or Ashura either.
What? You expected Imam Husayn (‘a) to pass through Hurr’s blockade himself, come into the city of Kufa, nock on your doors one by one, and say, “Come help me. They want to cut my head off. If you don’t come, this and that will happen.” What explanation did you expect from Imam Husayn (‘a) for you to come?
Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities. Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Arbaeen seems noisy, but it’s also quiet, because one might think, “Is it obligatory for me to struggle for Arbaeen?” I don’t know. What should I say? During these analyses, some lose this great opportunity. During these analyses, some lost the opportunity of helping Husayn (‘a).
But, there was one person sitting in Imam Husayn’s (\\\'a) meeting on the night before Ashura. People informed him, “The cursed Ubaydullah has arrested your son.” Being arrested at that time meant being executed. They had to rescue him somehow. Imam Husayn (‘a) looked at the father and said, “Go save your son. I don’t want you to be here when you have this problem.”
The Imam gave him some money and supplies and said, “Use these to gain your son\\\'s freedom.” If you have problems, don’t come to Arbaeen. If you were in Imam Husayn’s (\\\'a) tent on the night of Ashura, he would have said, “Go fix your problems.” Even if you were there on the night of Ashura!
What did that father do? He looked at AliAkbar, the Imam’s son, and at the Imam (‘a). He said, “Your young son is going to be martyred here tomorrow. Now I should go after my own son? May my son be sacrificed for your son!” He started pleading, “Don’t drive me out of your tent because of this. I don’t want to go after my problems. I want to be for you!” He pleaded so much that the Imam (‘a) said, “Fine, stay.”
The tests are not always noisy or clear in clarifying our duties! Some opportunities come and go quickly like lightning. Some opportunities don’t shake you and say, “Wake up. Get up. Move!” They don’t seize you by the collar. A person asks, “I have some jobs to do. There is Arbaeen too. I don’t know if I should leave my work, or not.”
I say, “I don’t know. What should I say?!” I tell them I don’t know. If it was Imam Husayn (‘a), he would say, “Go, for sure. Go do your work my dear.” How much did you want to spend for Arbaeen? And you say you’re waiting for your Imam (‘a.j.) to reappear for you to rescue the world with him?! You didn’t spend that much for the dignity of Aba Abdillah al-Husayn’s (‘s) gathering in Karbala in the Arbaeen meeting place. You are waiting for the Imam (‘a.j.) to come for you to give your life? We consider Arbaeen to be a quiet test.

Abdullah bin Umar met Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (as) in Medina. He said, “I’ve heard you want to go.” “Yes, come with me and help us,” said the Imam. “No, I can’t,” he said. “O Abdullah bin Umar, this world is not worth it. Come with me.” The Imam then told him a reason for him to be able to think correctly. He said, “This world is such that the Children of Israel would behead their prophet at night and live their life comfortably in the morning.” The Imam recited an elegy for one of the beheaded prophets in order to help Abdullah bin Umar lose his infatuation with this world. “This world isn’t worth it. Come with me. It’s a world where such crimes take place.”
What should hearing Imam Husayn’s elegies do to us? You friends who are mourning for Aba Abdillah al-Husayn and who love him, accept this that we have just started our relationship with Imam Husayn (as). The Imam’s martyrdom has not yet affected us. Do you know when his martyrdom will affect us? It’s when we start feeling the same way Zaynab felt when he said goodbye, and she fainted and collapsed. It’s when you take this elegy seriously on the night of Ashura, “Tonight the king of religion is a guest in her tent. O morning, don’t rise!”
Who can be affected by Aba Abdillah al-Husayn’s (as) martyrdom? The one who has this unusual thought the night before Ashura, “Maybe they won’t kill Husayn (as) tomorrow. Maybe. Could it be possible?” You say, “The story finished 1,400 years ago!” But when one has an intense love, his mind functions like this and is under the influence of his love. When he is told that Husayn, the son of Lady Fatimah, was martyred on the evening of Ashura, his life changes. He’ll live differently from the next day. “You’re not infatuated with this world anymore?” He replies, “I saw this world is not worth it. They killed Husayn, the son of Fatimah, and I pursue this world?”

This beautiful Surah is the 44th Surah in The Holy Quran.
The tittle word Dukhan means smoke or mist.
The theme of the Surah is how worldly pride and power have no value and are lost in the dust if they resist spiritual forces; how evil and good find their true place in the hereafter.
A special thanks to the Dubai Jamat for the use of their Arabic and English text.
