Israeli settlers and extremists have desecrated the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound before the eyes of Israeli police. Dozens of settlers stormed the holy Mosque through the Dung Gate. The Gate is always used by settlers when storming the holy Mosque. The settlers were led by Jewish extremist Rabbi Yehunda Glick, the chairman of the so-called Temple Mount Heritage Fund. In recent weeks, groups of Jewish settlers-often accompanied by Israeli security forces-have repeatedly entered the al-Aqsa Mosque complex. The frequent violations anger Palestinian Muslims and occasionally lead to violent clashes inside the mosque compound.

The incident came shortly after the prayers begun at a mosque in the town of Jamrud in Khyber tribal region. About 100 Sunni brothers were also injured in the bombing. Between 250 and 300 people were in the mosque and the wounded were taken to a local hospital in Jamrud and another hospital in Peshawar. Police, paramilitary forces and government officials were among the congregation at the mosque, some 30 km (20 miles) from the Afghan border. The incident was the deadliest in Pakistan since last September, when 60 people died in a suicide truck bomb attack at the five-star Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. The Friday attack came hours before US President Barack Obama was to announce new plans for combating Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Security forces in Egypt have killed a mosque Imam in Alexandria after raiding his house and severely beating him. Sheikh Akram was the Imam of the Ali Ibn Abi Taleb Mosque, in the Ajamy area of the northern city. Officials accused him of promoting anti-government sentiments in his lectures. The imam\'s family says security forces threw him off the balcony of his house. But security forces claim the imam fell while trying to escape arrest. Meanwhile, security sources in the northern part of the city have killed another protester. The man was killed in Alexandria\'s Janaklis area. Meanwhile, explosions hit outside a police station in the Ramal area of the city. Egypt plunged into chaos after the army toppled the country\'s first democratically-elected president in July.

Israeli forces have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the East Jerusalem al-Quds to disperse Palestinian protesters there. This comes ahead of discussions in the Israeli parliament later today on a plan to annex the holy site. Some reports suggest that at least 20 Palestinians have been injured and three others arrested in the crackdown. The Al-Aqsa compound is Islam\'s third-holiest site after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. In recent months, Israeli forces and settlers have stepped up their attacks on the mosque, leading to violent confrontations between the two sides. Back in 2000, a provocative visit to the site by former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon triggered a second Intifada or uprising during which thousands of Palestinians were killed and injured.

Israeli police ban Palestinians under 50 from entering al-Aqsa Mosque

Israeli forces have stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds and cordoned off its premises where dozens of Palestinian protesters had gathered. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli policemen had encircled the Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours and clashes erupted in the holy complex after the Israeli forces raided the area to push out the Palestinians. The protesters responded to the attack by throwing stones. Several people were injured and dozens more detained in the unrest.

A suicide bomber struck a mosque in north west Pakistan, killing 50 people and leaving around 80 injured. Officials say the target may have been a member of Pakistan's Senate who had encouraged people to oppose the Taliban. The targeted prayer session took place in an area where the Taliban has recently gained ground. In a separate attack, a second mosque was bombed near the city of Peshawar, wounding several people.

Pilgrims who have been staying in the holy city of Medina for a few days later travel to the holy city of Mecca in order to perform their Hajj rituals. Israeli settlers have broken into al-Aqsa mosque and clashed with Palestinians there. They were backed by Israeli forces who attacked the Palestinians using tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets. Israeli forces also beat the Palestinian protesters. An emergency press conference was held in Jerusalem Al Quds following the clashes. Leading Islamic figures attended the event calling upon Palestinians and all Arab states to prevent the continued violations of al Aqsa mosque and the rights of Palestinians living in Jerusalem al Quds.
