The United States and Britain are already under fire for the Iraq war, with many British and American troops accused of committing war crimes during the invasion. The shocking photos - reportedly taken in the city of Fallujah in 2004 - have been obtained by the website T-M-Z. They show American soldiers burning the remains of dead Iraqis and then posing for pictures with their skeletons. According to the website, the photographs were turned over to the US Department of Defense last week. The Pentagon is currently investigating the authenticity of the photos and the identities of the servicemen involved. The US attacked Iraq under the pretext that the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. WMDs were never found in the country and the war killed hundreds of thousands of people.
