Who all were the rioters that were seen in the limited and sporadic rioting on some of the streets, in some of the cities in the Islamic Republic of Iran? And are \'the rioters\' merely those that come out onto the streets, or are there other aspects to \'the rioters\'? Was this kind of limited and sporadic rioting something unprecedented in the 40-plus year history of the Islamic Republic of Iran? And was the country of Iran really \'on fire\' or had it turned into a \'war zone\', as the mass media had tried to portray it, and why would the mass media want to portray it as such? What is something that is commonly stated by American officials vis-à-vis, the Islamic Republic of Iran? Yet despite these statements of American officials regarding how long the Islamic Republic of Iran will last, what does the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, say about the current condition of the Islamic Republic? And as far as numbers are concerned, how many people come out against the Islamic System, as compared to how many people come out in support of the Islamic System in Iran? Is it not suspicious, that sporadic and limited rioting occurred almost immediately after the death of Ms. Mahsa Amini? And what are the overall categories of rioters that were seen on the streets and behind the scenes of the recent rioting in the Islamic Republic of Iran? Why did some youth come out onto the streets and join the riots? Why did some Iranian celebrities support, and in some cases, incite the rioters? Yet, who were the real players that participated in the riots, and in many cases, were supporting the rioting from behind the scenes? Do these rioters, who are incredibly limited in number, represent in any way, the mainstream view of the Iranian people? What was the involvement of the MKO/MEK terrorist organization, that is currently headquartered in Albania, and is whole-heartedly supported by the Arrogant Western Powers? How did the Islamic Republic\'s Judiciary branch, based upon the recommendations of the Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, deal with the various rioters, despite the damage that was done by the rioters to public and private property? Recent elections outcome have proven Italy to be an anomalous country. One of its most dangerous anomalies concerns newspaper ownership. Business, economic and political interests within the press favor censorship. Conflict of interest concerns all major Italian media groups and news organizations, such as RCS, L\'Espresso editorial group, Fininvest, Caltagirone editor and many others. The type of political and business control concerning the press is even more dangerous. Italian newspapers are affected by an astonishing ethical crisis that is far from being solved. El Pais journalist Juan Arias once said that \"the intertwining between politics and journalism is one of the cancers of Italian journalism.\" He added that in Italy, journalism is completely tied to power: \"every journalist had been accepted because of a politician\'s recommendation and to that politician, in one way or another, the journalist had to respond.\" On this week\'s INFocus we interview Italian journalists, University and independent researchers, publishers and politicians to shed light on this issue.

In a TV story about a shooting that took place in a Chicago neighborhood a reporter chooses to talk to a 4 year old boy to get reaction. We apologize for the video quality but what's important here is what is said….Listen to how the news anchors promote the story...what the child says ..and how the rest of the story is read "Meanwhile two city teens are are wounded on the Southside near east 7th. There was 18 year old man and a 16 year old girl were hit The males in good condition and the girl is expected to recover. There children on the scene who all saw it al infold and had disturbing reaction. Child - No I'm not scared of nothing. Reporter- when you get older are you going to stay away from these guns Child - No Reporter - No What are you going to do when you get older Child - I'm gonna have me a gun Anchor - That is very scary indeed. So far no suspects in the shootings." At first, a viewer might think the children were hardened soon to be street criminals. But someone at Chicago's WBBM leaked the entire interview to journalism watchdog groups Again we apologize for what you see but listen to what the reporter and the child actually said. "Reporter - when you get older you gonna stay away fromall these guns Child - No Reporter - No Child - No Reporter - What are you going to do when you get older? Child - I'm gonna have me a gun Reporter - You are ( child nods) Why do you want to do that? Child - I'm gonna be the police Reporter - OK then I guess you can have one" The exchange was sent all over the internet as bloggers and media groups blasted the TV Station for editing the story in a way that made the community look more violent. The US Civil rights group the NAACP wants action taken against the reporter and the editor. In American communities of color, civic groups have long complained about how they are portrayed on television and in newspapers. While many now say this is proof positive of a pervasive and long standing trend in American media, others who watch the industry say its is and isolated incident. Journalism Scholar and author Al Tompkins spoke with WBBM's New Director. He tells Press TV the station has admitted they made a gross mistake and that personnel responsible were disciplined. WBBM would not return phone calls to Press TV but issued an apology that said in part “We accept responsibility for the mistakes that were made, both in the reporting and editing of the story. The video of the child should not have aired. ….we have followed up with our employees to make sure that we all have learned from the mistakes that were made.

The President and I by Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich, 27 September 2010 I was pleasantly surprised when my request for an interview with Mr. Ahmadinejad, Iran's president was accepted. President Ahmadinejad has never shied away from being heard, but these interviews had been exclusive to prominent mainstream media personalities such as Larry King and Charlie Rose. However, it was the mainstream media's projection of Mr. Ahmadinejad that always remained questionable. On September 21, 2010, on the occasion of President Ahmadinejad's participation at the UN General Assembly, I was given the opportunity to conduct a candid interview with Mr. Ahmadinejad. I had overlooked the fact that such a meeting would be conducted in the presence of the secret service and body guards. No sooner had this reality hit home than Mr. Ahmadinejad's down to earth and easy attitude made me forget the presence of others in the room as we began the session. The time had come for me to verify or refute a research I had conducted as a Public Diplomacy graduate student while attending USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. At that time, I had examined the media's role in fashioning the image of Mr. Ahmadinejad. My research posited that though 'some great men make history, and history makes some men great', in an age dominated by the media-- internet, television, radio, and newspapers, the portrayal of Ahmadinejad is an artificial construct of the mainstream media. The image portrayed by the media had made him hero to some and a villain to others. Superstar or scapegoat, the Iranian President continues to dominate the news. With help and questions from university students and professors, I was eager to meet the real Ahmadinejad. Although a full hour had been granted for the interview (more accurately Q&A), regrettably, given the number of questions and the fact that the translation was not simultaneous, many of the questions were left unanswered. To my amazement, President Ahmadinejad granted me a second, follow-up interview (the transcript of which will be forwarded to participating universities). It is a rewarding experience to bring one's research to a practical conclusion. I firmly believe that Ahmadinejad is misrepresented by the corporate owned media. I leave it up to others to judge for themselves.

Der Spiegel magazine bureau - the magazine known for its depth of journalism has released astonishing pictures of the US soldiers but they have reached the public yet. US officials are nervous about when they do. That's because the pictures are show US soldiers are posing with what looks like dead Afghan men. One soldier holds the bleeding man's head up, and then in another picture a soldier is smiling. In a third picture two men are tied together who appear to have been shot at--slumped up against a post.

Occupy Calgary draws several hundred protesters Hundreds of people drummed, chanted and protested issues ranging from income disparity, capitalism and corporate politics to homelessness and fiat currency during “Occupy Calgary.” They began their protest at the foot of the locked glass doors of downtown Bankers Hall on Saturday afternoon. After about two hours, a crowd estimated to be between 300 and 500 people marched to Olympic Plaza, where several vowed to camp out over the weekend. Police said there were no arrests. The demonstrators had remained peaceful. Following similar protests in cities across Canada, the Occupy Wall Street movement is drawing thousands of people across the world to set up campsites in urban parks. It began in New York in September; when protesters began a sit-in at Zuccotti park to object to Wall Street’s role in the 2008 financial collapse. “There’s a high disparity between the rich and the poor in Calgary,” said SAIT journalism student Sarah Pynoo, 19. “We’re one of the richest cities in North America, but we have enormous homelessness problems. “And there are thousands of people living below the poverty line and that’s worrying.” The protest was rich with signs, flags and even a few raging grannies. One cardboard sign, painted in a dark silhouette of a mouse, featured a red mouth with the sign “corporate politics eats people.” Some protesters tried to draw awareness to investment fraud issues in Alberta. Others on 9/11 truth, a return to the gold standard, and mainstream media bias.

An Afghan refugee who was granted asylum in the UK has accepted substantial libel compensation at the high court in London after the daily express newspaper falsely accused him of being a member of the Taliban. Abdol Shazad who is 20 was recognized as a refugee by the Home Office last February after a four-year battle in which it was found that he was at fear of being persecuted by the Taliban. But a month later The express published a story saying that he was a member of the Taliban and posted an online version of the story under which hateful and abusive comments were posted causing great distress to Mr Shazad Journalists say this type of behavior is indicative of the lack of ethics of large segments of the right wing media.The Legal Counsel for the Express, Chloe Strong Said: \"The allegation in the articles was false and the defendant wishes to offer its sincerest apologies to the claimant for the damage, distress and embarrassment which the publication of the articles has caused him.\" The Daily Express has apologized and agreed to pay him substantial damages. The exact figure is undisclosed. But this type of behavior from elements of the right wing press is unlikely to stop as a result For Mr Shazid at least, there has been some kind of accountability for this unethical journalism.
