Foreign-backed insurgents in Syria have reportedly massacred at least 30 civilians in Idlib province.
The killings took place as members of an al-Qaeda-linked group-- known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant-- fired a series of mortar shells on Kafteen village. The insurgents in a separate incident also fired mortar shells on a town in Hasakah province. The attack primarily targeted a police station and led to the injury of a number of civilians. Locals say they\'ve seen some people vomiting after the shelling-- in what could be a sign of a chemical attack.

Syrian government forces have seized a large cache of drugs from foreign-backed insurgents in Idlib province.
Syrian troops found the drugs in a warehouse in Idlib countryside. Several men were also arrested at the warehouse. The militants have been receiving funds and other supports from their regional backers, particularly Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Reports say Riyadh and Doha give them millions of dollars each month, and also buy them weapons from black markets around the world.

A third explosion rocked Syrian city of Idlib on Monday, hours after twin bomb blasts killed more than 20 people in the northwestern city.
Casualties are feared in the third blast which shook the university neighborhood in Idlib on Monday.
Activists say at least 20 people were killed and dozens of others were injured in twin explosions targeting the Air Force Intelligence headquarters and the Military Intelligence buildings in Idlib earlier in day.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Webster Griffin Tarpley, an author and historian from Washington, to further explore the issue.

Al-Qaeda-linked militants in Syria have killed at least 50 rival insurgents amid continued infighting among militant groups.
Opposition sources say the insurgents were killed in attacks, car bombings and summary executions by militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant or I-S-I-L. Sunday\'s deaths came on the third day of infighting that began when militants of the so-called Free Syrian Army attacked checkpoints and bases manned by the I-S-I-L. The clashes have mostly centered in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. Opposition sources say the I-S-I-L militants summarily executed thirty of their civilian and non-civilian hostages after their base was surrounded by rival insurgents in the Harem district of Idlib province. Meanwhile, a group calling itself the Islamic Front, which is the biggest insurgent alliance in Syria, issued a strong warning to the ISIL militants, vowing to fight against the group.

Syrian soldiers have discovered explosive devices and ammunition left behind by militants in the western farms of Qara in the Damascus countryside.
The army managed to seize the town and force militants out after fierce clashes earlier this month. Army units continue to make gains against foreign-backed insurgents in different parts of the country. In its latest drive, the army has made fresh advances in the suburbs of the strategic cities of Aleppo and Idlib. Fighting is also raging on between Syrian forces and militants in Ma\'lula, north of Damascus and the nearby Qalamun region.

Another act of atrocity at the hands of foreign-backed insurgents in Syria. Militants execute an Iraqi cameraman in Syria\'s northeast.
Reports say Yasser Faysal al-Joumaili was killed in Idlib province after insurgents stopped him at a checkpoint and shot him without asking any questions. The militants are said to be members of the notorious al-Qaeda-linked group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The slain reporter of Al-Jazeera International and Reuters was on an assignment for a Spanish media outlet. Many journalists have lost their lives in the Syrian conflict which began in 20-11.

Rival insurgent groups continue to fight each other in syria. In the latest development, the so-called Free syrian Army has seized a compound held by al-Qaeda-linked militants in syria\'s northwest.
Opposition sources say the F-S-A insurgents seized the compound after chasing fighters loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Aleppo\'s Manjib town. The I-S-I-S militants reportedly used car bombs for the first time to defend the compound. The foreign-backed battle against the syrian government has turned into full-scale infighting in recent days. The al-Qaeda-linked group has suffered huge losses in two days of fighting against an alliance of militant groups in Aleppo and Idlib provinces. Dozens from both sides have been killed in clashes since Friday.

In Syria, insurgent groups continue to fight one another. A group calling itself the Islamic Front has killed and captured a number of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant insurgents in the town of Al-Nairab.
The Islamic Front, which is the biggest insurgent alliance, had earlier announced that it would fight against the group. Earlier in the day, Al-Qaeda-linked militants killed at least 50 rival insurgents. The insurgents were killed in attacks, car bombings, and summary executions by militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as the ISIL. It was the third day of infighting, which began when militants of the so-called Free Syrian Army attacked checkpoints and bases manned by the ISIL. Previously, the clashes were mostly in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, but opposition sources say the fighting has now spread to the east.

The UN human rights office says a soaring number of executions in northern Syria could amount to war crimes.
In a statement released on Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has warned militants and armed opposition groups that such executions violate international humanitarian law. Pillay said her office has received reports of a series of mass executions of civilians and soldiers in Aleppo, Idlib and Raqqah by militants, especially by al-Qaeda affiliates, fighting the Syrian government. Pillay says exact numbers are hard to verify, but many civilians and soldiers in the custody of militants have been executed since the beginning of this year.
