Indiscriminate killings of Muslims continue in the Central African Republic. The Christian militiamen have issued an ultimatum to Muslims taking refuge in a church to either leave the country or face death. Nearly 800 Muslims are hiding in a Catholic Church in the southwestern town of Carnot. Some of them fled from a remote village of Guen after militia known as the anti-Balaka massacred at least 70 people earlier this month. The militia is now threatening to burn the church to the ground. The sectarian conflict in the African nation has so far claimed over a thousand lives. Human rights groups have already documented a wave of violent attacks against Muslims throughout the country. Tens of thousands have also fled for their lives to neighboring countries. The bloodshed continues despite the deployment of thousands of French and African peacekeepers.

France has warned that the Central African Republic is on the verge of genocide. This comes as the U-N is considering sending African and French forces to intervene in the strife-torn country. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has described the situation in France\'s former colony as total disorder. The Central Africa Republic has faced growing chaos since a coalition of rebels staged a coup in March, forcing president Francois Bozize to flee. Last year, France invaded Mali under the pretext of stopping what it called al-Qaeda-linked militants in the country. The invasion has caused a serious humanitarian crisis in the country, displacing thousands of people.

After the Seleka Alliance rebels toppled president Francois Bozize in Central African Republic in March, an international contact group was formed immediately to help normalize the situation in the country. The contact group is headed by the Democratic Republic of Congo. While reporting to this group in Ethiopia\'s capital Addis Ababa, the prime minister of Central Africa Republic expressed concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in his country.

The Israeli parliament has approved a law that allows new illegal migrants to be held without charge. Under the new law, illegal migrants face up to a year in detention. The law also gives Israeli authorities the right to send illegal immigrants living in Israeli cities to complexes called open facilities-- until they are deported or voluntarily go back to their homeland. The first such facilities is due to start operating this week in the Negev Desert in southern Israel. Migrants kept there will have no right to work. Critics of the new law have described such open facilities as prisons. They predict the new law- like the previous one- will be challenged in the Supreme Court. More than 50-thousand African immigrants currently work in low-paying jobs in Israel.

South Africa\\\'s anti-apartheid leader, Nelson Mandela, has been laid to rest in his ancestral home in Eastern Cape. His burial in the village of Qunu ended ten days of memorial ceremonies that also received over a hundred world leaders. Around 4500 invited guests including foreign dignitaries attended Mandela\\\'s state funeral. But the public was shut out of the interment itself, with his family insisting it be a private affair. The former South African president died on December the 5th, at the age of 95. Although Mandela had been critically ill for months, the announcement of his death came as a shock to South Africans and the rest of the world.

On June 3, Tel Aviv announced that migrants who illegally crossed into Israel could face a detention of up to three years. According to the Israeli interior ministry statistics, about 60,000 African immigrants, mainly from Sudan, South Sudan and Eritrea, have entered Israel illegally. [11 July 2012] Dangerous days ahead for Egypt - English Egypt's highest court has overturned Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi's decree reinstating the North African county's parliament. The ruling of the Supreme Constitutional Court was announced on Tuesday, hours after the parliament reconvened briefly on the same day by a presidential decree, the Associated Press reported. On Sunday, Morsi issued a decree reinstating the dissolved parliament in defiance of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which dissolved the parliament on June 16 in line with an earlier ruling by the Supreme Constitutional Court. The move to reinstate the parliament is the first showdown between Morsi and the country's powerful military. [12 Aug 2012] Israeli prisons increase repression during Ramadan - English Prisoner Hatem Qafisha, an administrative detainee, said the prison\'s administration started to handcuff the prisoners\' hands and legs during meetings with the lawyers, and when using bathrooms. Qashafa also said that the prisoners suffer from these brutal procedures besides the hard living conditions due to the hot weather, the continuous cut in the electricity and the lack of the electrical equipment. The prisoner Musaab Fathi from Ramallah, an administrative detainee since 5/6/2011, also said that prisoners in section 6 live in harsh living conditions; the prisons\' administration didn\'t provide the basic materials for cooking, so prisoners just eat little amount of food that the prison provides and they are forced to drink warm water because there are no refrigerators in that section. He added that the prison\'s administration also put the African detainees in the same section, the thing that causes a lot of dispute between the prisoners.
