In Pakistan, at least four people are killed in a car bombing in the provincial capital of Balochistan.
Quetta city\'s deputy inspector general says an explosives-laden car was blown up in one of the busiest areas. The powerful blast rocked the whole area, smashing windows of buildings and shops nearby. No person or group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Quetta has been plagued by sectarian violence, targeted killings, kidnappings and militant attacks. Militants there, have long demanded more autonomy and a greater share of Balochistan\'s natural resources. Militant groups have seemingly operated with impunity as security forces are said to have turned a blind eye to their attacks and kidnappings.

UN officials are calling on Israel to end the blockade of the Gaza Strip. They\'re warning that the situation in the Palestinian territory may get even worse.
The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees says the Israeli blockade has paralyzed Gaza\'s construction industry. Robert Turner also said that the demolition of tunnels used by Gazans to transfer goods and construction materials to the enclave has put U-N projects on hold. This, after Egyptian authorities also stepped up the destruction of the tunnels in recent months. Meanwhile, another U-N official, James Rawley has also waned about the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory over a lack of fuel there. Gaza\'s fuel crisis has led to the closure of its main power plant in recent months. Israel imposed its all-out land, aerial, and naval blockade on Gaza in June 2007 after the victory of Hamas in elections there.

Syrians are witnessing yet another deadly day. At least 15 people have been killed in a car bomb blast in the capital.
Nine of those killed in the explosion have been civilians while the others are reported to be Syrian army forces. Over 30 people have also been injured. Local media say the blast took place when a bomber detonated a car packed with explosives in front of a bus stop in the Sumariyah district. The area in western Damascus is home to a complex-- housing families of soldiers fighting against foreign backed insurgents. Syria has seen a rise in such attacks since government forces escalated their mop-up operations to clear more areas of the foreign-backed militants.

These are activists from Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf or Justice Party which is now governing the country\'s northwestern province bordering with Afghanistan. For several days, the provincial government has blocked land routes for trucks carrying war supplies for US-led foreign forces in Afghanistan.
The provincial government has avoided using police force to block the supply lines in order to prevent legal action because defense and foreign policies are the exclusive domains of the federal government.
Legally speaking the federal government in Islamabad can dismiss the provincial government in northwestern region for overstepping its authority to block the NATO supply line. But given the fact that the anti-US sentiment is rising alarmingly, the federal government is hard pressed to decide on a clear policy action that goes beyond routinely condemning U-S drone attacks.
The country\'s Interior Minister Chaudhar Nisar Khan says that it is time for Pakistan to choose between US economic assistance or self respect. The federal government is engaged in consultation process with major political parties to evolve consensus on how to bring an end to the US drone attacks that has effectively derailed the peace process with the pro-Taliban militants.

Tensions in Egypt are running high as people defy a new ban on unauthorized protests and take to the streets in major cities. Clashes between security forces and supporters of the ousted president have left dozens injured. Many more have been detaind.
Violence broke out after Mohamed Morsi\'s supporters joined protests dubbed the Friday of Retribution to denounce the new anti-protest law and demand the ousted president\'s reinstatement. Clashes in Cairo erupted after police fired tear gas to disperse people joining the funeral of a university student killed in a protest on Thursday. Similar violence has been reported in Alexandria, Giza and the Nile Delta. The mass rallies come despite warnings from authorities of a firm response to any unauthorized protests. Under the new law, protest organizers are obliged to get permission for protests and hand in the names and addresses of all the people planning to join. The new law is under scrutiny both domestically and internationally.

In Japan, opposition is mounting against a decision to relocate the US military base on Okinawa. Opponents are now threatening with lawsuits and protests, demanding that the base be completely moved off the island.
The head of Nago group, which opposes the base, said that the organization would file a lawsuit challenging the governor\\\'s decision. Okinawa officials have approved the relocation of a controversial US military base on the southern island. About half of all US military personnel in Japan are stationed there. The stagnation of the relocation issue has been a thorn in the side of relations between Tokyo and Washington since 1996 when the two governments agreed on the original plan to move the base.

Violence raging in Iraq, where officials say the army\\\'s special forces are fighting al-Qaeda-linked militants in the city of Fallujah west of the capital Baghdad.
A commander of the Iraqi commandos has described the clashes in Anbar province as heavy. The special forces were called in to restore security to Fallujah, as police were ordered to return to their headquarters. They\\\'re also being helped by local tribesmen. The al-Qaeda-linked militants are said to have half of Fallujah under their control. The western province of Anbar has been the scene of deadly violence since Monday after Iraqi security forces dismantled an anti-government protest camp in Ramadi. The government says the site had become a breeding ground for al-Qaeda-linked terrorists.

Kurdistan\'s regional government says it has already spent $70m on the refugees. But Kurdistan\'s share of this year\'s Iraqi national budget is unclear because the region has started independent oil exports via Turkey.

Libyans are commemorating the third anniversary of the beginning of the revolution that toppled former dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
In Tripoli, people gathered at the main crossroads of the capital to watch fireworks. Many streets were decked with Libya\'s revolutionary flag, and multicolored lights were strung across the main roads. But for many Libyans there is little to celebrate as the country is plagued by lawlessness. Libya is still struggling to rebuild an army capable of curbing the violence blamed largely on the well-armed militiamen who fought Gaddafi. And the government and the interim parliament are accused of corruption and failing to provide Libyans a better life.

The second round of talks of Geneva 2 ended last week without a breakthrough result. Kadri Jamil says that at the moment the opposition is represented unfairly in Geneva. He says that members of internal opposition have been left out of the talks so far.

Iran\'s largest saltwater lake has shrunk to less than 20 percent of its original size and experts are looking for ways to stop it from disappearing.
Experts believe that Lake Urumiyeh is shrinking due to climate change, expanded irrigation for surrounding farmlands and the construction of dams on feeder rivers. The world\'s third largest salt lake-- famous in the past as a tourist spot, could disappear completely within two years, unless prompt action is taken. The Iranian government has promised to save the lake from disappearing. Experts from Iran and around the world have come together to discuss the best options available to reverse the disastrous trend. Raising public awareness, encouraging farmers to abandon wasteful irrigation practices from sources feeding the lake and growing crops that consume less water are among plans pursued by the government to help stop the lake from drying up.

William Hague added that Tehran and London are working together to make it easier for Iranian and British citizens to obtain consular and visa services. An incredibly eye-opening clip and timely reminder from Sayyid Asad Jafri. In Karbala, the forces of good met with the forces of evil. As history repeats itself, where will you be? Are you of the people of Medina? Or are you of the people of Kufa?
It was the youth that helped drive this religion forward from the very start. It was the youth that helped revive and restore the truth. And yet, we may make the mistake sometimes of condemning the youth for the questions they ask. Sometimes we fail to see what Islam is. We must truly reflect: when the time of Imam Mahdi\\\'s arrival comes, will we be like the people of Kufa, who abandoned the Imam of their time? Or will we be of the people of Medina, who welcomed the Prophet (S)? And while you think about this, remember: Imam Husayn (A) didn’t only teach us how to die - but how to live.

How many times have we heard that human beings are social animals? How true is that? Does Islam accept this notion? How is the western philosophy different from the Islamic philosophy on this topic? And how does this concept effect our education system today?
This clip will open up a new avenue in your thought. Islam\\\'s take on this concept is one of the most significant, fundamental and cognitive revolutions in the science of humanities in contemporary times.
Now once you understand this concept, you\\\'ll start to see the 2nd phase of the Islamic Revolution manifesto by Imam Khamenei in a different manner. This will give you an idea of where we are headed with The New Islamic Civilization.
A senior research scholar and strategist of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Abbasi explains this.
