International women\'s day has been celebrated for over a century, and since then it has manifested itself in different ways in each and every culture.
In some countries it has morphed into a sort of Valentine\'s Day. In others the day highlights points that the United Nations intended by creating the occasion.
Light is shed on human rights, women\'s rights, and the ongoing struggles of women worldwide. In Iran woman\'s day means all that and a little more.
Many husbands choose this day to show their appreciation for their wives, and the ongoing efforts to assert women\'s rights are highlighted. But the occasion has added significance in Iran, because of the people\'s Islamic faith, which emphasizes the holy status of women in society.
That might be news for someone with little information about the Islamic faith, but Muslims have numerous laws designed specifically to assert women\'s rights, written in a time when baby girls were such a disgrace for their family, they were buried alive at birth.
The role of women in any society is a subject of much controversy and debate. In Iran that debate is very much alive as well, with its own specific aspects.
In this edition of the show we\'ll be talking about the Iranian women, and her role and status in the Iranian society.

Amidst an intensifying crackdown on anti-government protesters in the tiny Gulf island Kingdom of Bahrain, President Obama met Tuesday with Crown Prince Salman bin Isa al-Khalifa, a visit that was not announced beforehand. We speak with Nabeel Rajab, president of Bahrain's Center for Human Rights, based in Manama. "We do not see anything that makes us optimistic that the government has the willingness to go for a dialogue with the opposition and to listen to the grievances and demands of the people," says Rajab, noting that soldiers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Bahrain continue to arrest protesters and the doctors treating those injured during pro-democracy demonstrations. This movie was praised by Shahid Qasem Soleimani, and the director to honor Gen. Soleimani portrayed the main character resembling him.
Bodyguard is a 2016 Iranian film about a middle-aged man who protects high-ranking political figures in Iran. It is written and directed by Iranian film director Ebrahim Hatamikia.
لطفا چنانچه ایرانی هستید از طریق قانونی به دانلود و مشاهده این فیلم بپردازید
My note:
In this movie the younger generation of Iranians are portrayed less caring and sacrificing in compare to the older ones. all the young people in this film are somehow victims of the situation and trying to escape it, instead of standing strong.
Which in reality we\\\'ll see young men and women putting their lives on the line and fighting for what they believe in, maybe stronger than their parents. We see Shahid Mohsen Hojaji in reality and many others who have sacrificed their lives and doing so.

US President Barack Obama described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as \"a pain in the ass\" in the run-up to the 2012 presidential election, a new book authored by two American journalists reveals.
\"We all know that Bibi Netanyahu is a pain in the ass,\" the recently-published book \"Double Down, Game Change 2012\" quotes Obama as having said.
The book has been written by John Heilemann of New York Magazine and Mark Halperin of Time Magazine.
The book also said Obama \"blamed himself for accepting the distorted political prism through which every effort to achieve a settlement in the region was mediated.\"

Israel approves plans to build more than two thousand new settler units in Jerusalem al-Quds and the occupied West Bank. As Israeli soldiers hand out more eviction orders to Palestinian families, we\'re asking is Tel Aviv under enough international pressure to stop its settlement activities that the UN has called illegal? Are the US-brokered talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority doomed? I\'m Homa Lezgee and you\'re watching the Debate.
Guests:
- Political Activist & Commentator, Kevin Ovenden (London).
- Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute, Richard Weitz (Washington).
Subjects:
1- Some observers say Israel\'s settlement expansions at this point in time are in fact meant to undermine talks since Israel is not interested in a two-state solution...do you agree?
2- Is a two-state solution possible?
3- Israel\'s economy minister Naftali Benner has said a two-state solution will harm Tel Aviv and that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state will destroy Israel\'s economy...what does that say about Israel\'s willingness for talks to get anywhere?
4- There was some friction between Tel Aviv and Washington when an Israeli minister said John Kerry\'s proposal on the Jordan Valley wasn\'t worth the paper it was written on and suggested that Kerry was naïve. How have the settlement expansions effected US-Israeli relations?
5- Is the US going to put enough pressure on Israel to stop the settlement expansions?
6- \"Israel teaching the US a lesson since the Obama administration is being a bit too serious\"...
7- What do you think about the EU position against settlements? Will a growing boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign help?
8- Should Israel be taking the academic and economic sanctions more seriously?
9- Similarities between Israel and South African apartheid regime...
10- How long is this stalemate going to last? How long can Israel continue to defy international law?

Ten international human rights groups have written to the United Nations about the torture of journalists in Bahrain.
The letter, signed by the Media Legal Defense Initiative and the International Federation for Human Rights, among others, has been sent to U-N special rapporteurs Frank La Rue and Juan Méndez. The rights groups have called for an investigation into the arrest, detention, and torture of Mohamed Hassan, Hussain Hubail, and Qassim Zain al-Deen. All three journalists were arrested in August and face trial on charges related to their reporting on the anti-regime demonstrations. Thousands of people, including rights activists and journalists, have been detained and tortured since the uprising began in Bahrain in 2011. Over the past three years, Manama\\\'s heavy-handed crackdown, which is being backed by Saudi forces, has killed scores of people.

[29 July 2012] Pakistan US to sign draft pack on NATO supply routes - English
Pakistan will not allow the transportation of weapons or dangerous materials, including arms and ammunition in any circumstances through its routes to the US-led forces fighting in Afghanistan, says the draft of the 16-clause memorandum of understanding (MoU) to be signed between Islamabad and Washington.
The draft which says the written accord has been drafted in accordance with the UN charter allows only the transportation of non-lethal cargo, including food, medicines, equipment and material for capacity building of the Afghan National Security Forces. These will be allowed to pass through the strategic routes which were recently reopened by Islamabad after a seven-month blockade.

The book discussed in this edition of Epilogue is "Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel's War against the Palestinians" written by Noam Chomsky & Ilan Pappé.
Israel's reckless use of military machine against defenseless Palestinian people is all done with a quiet approval of USA and the European Union. From the targeting of schools and hospitals, to the indiscriminate use of white phosphorus, Israel's conduct in 'Operation Cast Lead' has rattled even some of its most strident supporters.
In this book, Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappé survey the fallout from that devastation, and place the massacre in Gaza in the context of Israel's long-standing war against the Palestinians.
"Gaza in Crisis is" a rigorous, historically informed and much-needed analysis of the situation in Gaza.

Egypt\'s 50-member committee tasked with writing the country\'s new constitution finishes voting on the amended national charter.
Egypt\'s former foreign minister Amr Mussa-- who heads the constitution panel-- says the draft will be given to interim president Adly Mansour on Tuesday. The approval comes despite nationwide protests by supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi. Among many others, the panel has approved a controversial article that allows civilians to be tried in military courts. The new draft also bans the formation of parties based on religious grounds. It also specifies that the defense minister must be appointed in agreement with the military. Based on the new charter, procedures for the first election, either presidential or parliamentary, must begin between 30 to 90 days after the adoption of the constitution. Egypt\'s interim authorities suspended the previous constitution written during Morsi after his removal from power on July 3.

Syria has demanded a stern and urgent UN condemnation of the massacre of Alawite villagers committed on Sunday by foreign-backed insurgents.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry has written a letter to the UN secretary general and the chairman of the Security Council detailing the bloodshed. Officials say more than 50 people --including women and children -- were killed in the attack on the village of Ma\'an in Hama province. Damascus has called for the condemnation of both the militants and their international backers. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has also acknowledged that the massacre happened. The tragedy occurred hours before the launch of the second round of peace talks in Geneva. On Monday, the government delegation began the talks with a draft statement on the massacre. Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that the foreign-backed opposition should have condemned the incident out of patriotic and moral duty.
