Millions of Iranian will head into polling stations in less than a day to determine the president of the Islamic Republic for the next four years, Press TV reports. Around 51 million eligible voters in Iran are getting ready to cast their votes in the Friday presidential election as the six candidates wrapped up their final day of campaigning across the country on Wednesday. The fourth city and rural council elections are also scheduled to be held on Friday. Ahead of the vote, the national opinion polls indicate that more than 60 percent of the eligible voters will take part in the country\'s 11th presidential election. The Iranian voters will have to choose among six candidates who have stayed in the race. Recent polls also suggest that presidential election might go for a run-off, setting the stage for a fierce race between the two top candidates.

The long-awaited measures to tackle Italy\'s grave economic crisis were finally announced by the Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta last week. Based on the army\'s roadmap, the much disputed constitution has been suspended temporarily and Adly Mansour, the head country\'s Supreme Constitutional Court has been named as the acting president until early elections are held. Egypt\'s army chief has ousted President Mohamed Morsi and dissolved the country\'s constitution in a move aimed at resolving the country\'s debilitating political crisis. General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made the announcement on state television on Wednesday. Sisi also said that new parliamentary elections will be held, and declared head of Supreme Constitutional Court Adli Mansour as the caretaker leader. The army announced the roadmap hours after its two-day ultimatum to Morsi came to an end. Sisi said that the army was fulfilling its \"historic responsibility\" to protect the country, and Morsi had \"failed to meet the demands of the Egyptian people.\" Meanwhile, opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei said the roadmap announced by Sisi \"meets the people\'s demands for early presidential elections.\" Egypt\'s second largest Islamist group, the al-Nour Party, also said it agreed to the army roadmap in order to put an end to the country\'s political crisis.

Israeli army attacks against Palestinians have escalated this week during non-violent demonstrations organized throughout the West Bank. The attacks have left dozens injured and hospitalized. One of the victims was Palestinian resistance leader Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, who attended a non-violent demonstration held in the village of Betin against the illegal Israeli settlements. Barghouti stated that soldiers randomly shot at protesters, wounding dozens of Palestinian citizens. He added that the Israeli army specifically targeted journalists who were recording the attacks.

In late June, The World Heritage committee of the United Nation\'s Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, inscribed the Iranian Golestan Palace in its World Heritage List. This is the first Iranian monument among the other 15, which has been located in the heart of the capital, Tehran. The palace was built in Tehran in the 16th century during the reign of Safavid King Tahmasb. The site received its most characteristic features following extensions in the 19th century, when the ruling Qajar family selected the palace as the royal residence and seat of power. The palace was rebuilt to its current form in 1865 by Haji Abol-hasan Mimar Navai. Families of hunger striking Palestinian and Jordanian prisoners held in Israeli jails, have rallied in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross office in the central West Bank city of al Bireh. The prisoners are currently refusing food in protest to their treatment by Israeli authorities. 5 of the prisoners refusing food from their Israeli jailers have Jordanian citizenship, while the rest hold identity cards issued by the Palestinian Authority.

The Al-Quds rallies in Toronto and the world will continue to grow in future and peace and justice loving individuals will continue to give voice to the voiceless. The future of Israel will not be, and cannot be different from other oppressive regimes in history; whether it is the regime of the Pharaoh or Apartheid, those who commit heinous crimes against the innocent are bound to be defeated.
