The head of Iran\'s expert-level nuclear negotiating team says Tehran and the P-5+1 group have proposed January 20 as the date to implement the landmark deal sealed in November.
Hamid Baeidinejad said the proposed date should be verified by the political directors. He added that due to the Christmas recess and a meeting between Iran and the senior E-U officials, the proposed date may be delayed for a few days. Baeidinejad also rejected the recent remarks by a U-S State Department spokeswoman that agreement with Iran has not yet been fully implemented. He noted that experts from the two sides have completed their expert studies and submitted the final version to the senior political directors

Another row could be brewing between China and Japan, this time over a disputed gas field.
On Wednesday Japan\'s chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga expressed serious concern over the building of a drilling rig by China, near an offshore gas field claimed by both countries in the East China Sea. China\'s unilateral development of the field, he said, was something his nation could not accept. At China\'s Foreign Ministry, spokeswoman Hua Chunying has dismissed the complaint.

Iran has expressed readiness to attend the event, but without preconditions.

Iran strongly condemns remarks by Bahraini foreign minister that Tehran is interfering in the Arab kingdom\'s internal affairs.
Iran\'s foreign ministry summoned the Bahraini charge d\'affaires in Tehran to protest the comments by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said such remarks show the Manama officials\' confusion regarding the legal demands of the oppressed people of Bahrain. She also urged the small Persian Gulf state not to get support from foreign forces in suppressing anti-regime protests. Pro-democracy protesters have been holding rallies in Bahrain since 2011, calling for the Al Khalifa family to relinquish power. Scores of people have been killed and thousands arrested ever since.

The United States, Poland, and the three Baltic states have voiced concern over Russia\'s deployment of nuclear-capable missiles close to the four European Union countries\' borders.
US State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf confirmed that the US had urged Russia to not take steps that would destabilize the region. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Igor Konashen-kov says the missiles will be deployed in Kaliningrad in the Western Military District. For years, Russia threatened to deploy missiles in response to the United States\' plan to install a NATO missile system in Eastern Europe. Moscow says the NATO missiles are a threat to Russian national security. Russian media reports say the newly-deployed missiles can hit NATO targets located in Poland, Lithuania, and even Germany.

A Hezbollah lawmaker says Israel and Saudi Arabia could be behind the terrorist attacks outside Iran\'s embassy in the Lebanese capital Beirut.
This, as Iran has also blamed Israel for the twin bombings in Beirut. Iran\'s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham described the terrorist attacks as an inhumane crime by the Israeli regime and its mercenaries. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Iran\'s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani has condemned the attacks, saying they show the frustration of Tel Aviv and its like-minded terrorist groups. The two blasts outside Iran\'s diplomatic mission in Beirut have left at least 23 people dead. Informed sources say six security guards of the embassy have also been killed. Over a hundred and 40 others were injured as well. Lebanese officials say Iran\'s cultural attaché Ibrahim Ansari has also been killed. An al-Qaeda-linked group, known as Abdullah Azzam, has claimed responsibilty for the attacks.
