What is the meaning of moderation?
And to what extent must one avoid extravagance?
Can one simply throw away the few sips of water that are left at the bottom of our glass?
Does moderation or being on an extreme limited to merely financial and economical issues in one\\\\\\\'s livelihood?
And finally, how can one determine whether they are on an extreme or in moderation?
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the 6th divinely appointed Imam, Imam Ja\\\\\\\'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (A), where his eminence (A) speaks about \\\\\\\"The Delicate Balance of Moderation\\\\\\\".

The speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) was interrupted repeatedly by protesters opposed to Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. The activists are from the Move Over AIPAC coalition led by CODEPINK: Women for Peace.
The protesters, 5 in all, rose one by one, unfurled banners, and chanted slogans. In response to Netanyahu’s claim that returning to the 1967 borders would be “indefensible,” activists called out that various aspects of Israel’s policy are indefensible. They were escorted out by security, but not before they made a highly visible protest against the theft of Palestinian land, the siege of Gaza, denial of the rights of Palestinian refugees, silencing dissent, and destruction of homes and schools.
“Growing up as the son of Holocaust survivor, I learned that it is everyone’s job to stand up for others when they are persecuted, and I learned what happens when we don’t defend humanity. Now, it is my job to stand up in support of Palestinians, saying, ‘bombing schools is indefensible, bulldozing homes is indefensible, ’” said Jewish American protester Rick Colbath-Hess, 53 from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
“As a young Jewish person it is important for me to stand up today and tell Netanyahu and AIPAC that their voices do not represent me,” said Ariel Vegosen, 30, from Valley Stream, New York, “I will not allow my faith to be misused as a weapon, covering up the theft of Palestinians’ homes and livelihoods. Judaism teaches me to stand up when I see oppression— discrimination is not a Jewish value and does not make Israel safer. Occupying Palestinian land is indefensible.”
Bruce Taub, 71, from Massachusetts and associated with American Jews for a Just Peace, was another protester. “As a Jewish man, I come from a people who have been scattered about the world without losing their identity. I will not sit by and allow Palestinian refugees to be denied their rights and peoplehood in a country that would allow me to become a citizen even though I have no ties there. Displacing refugees is indefensible.” said Taub, 71.
Chelsea Byers, 21 year old college student from Arizona who is an intern with CODEPINK, said “I am protesting AIPAC and Netanyahu because I am disappointed and enraged that the US supports human rights violations by Israel. This includes killing, injuring, and locking up nonviolent protesters fighting for the same human rights I am. I am appalled that $3 billion US tax dollars goes to fund the perpetuation of violence instead of building a more sustainable future. Silencing dissent is indefensible.”
“In a mere three weeks, Israel killed 1400 Gazans, and since the siege on Gaza began , thousands have died from being denied access to health-care, drinkable water, bodily security and humanity,” stated Sasha Gelzin of Washington D.C. “Since Palestinians can’t confront Netanyahu and remind him of their daily condition, we are doing that tonight. Starving Gaza is indefensible; dropping white phosphorous bombs is indefensible. ”
This action is part of a week-long set of actions protesting the pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC and its unconditional support for Israel. Tomorrow, activists will be in the halls of Congress during PM Netanyahu’s speech. To read more about Move Over AIPAC events, visit the website at www.MoveOverAIPAC.org.

One of the most tragic events that occurred on the 10th of Muharram year 61 A.H., in the land of Karbala, was the martyrdom of Ali Asghar (A), the infant son of Imam Husayn (A).
How does Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Muslim Ummah, relate the events of the martyrdom of Ali Asghar (A)?
And how does he make the martyrdom of Ali Asghar (A) more relatable to the average person?
What is potentially one of the reasons that Imam Husayn (A) requested water for the infant child?
And finally, how much water was truly needed to quench the thirst of the infant Ali Asghar; still the enemy had no mercy?!
The Leader of the Muslim Ummah, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei relates \\\"The Martyrdom of Ali Asghar ibn Husayn (A)\\\".
Our condolences to the believers upon the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (A), his family members, and his companions.

Years has passed since the Israeli military launched missile and ground attacks on Gaza, which Israel called Operation Cast Lead. According to the UN, 1,383 Palestinians died as a result, including 333 children.
And what of the survivors? For the 1.7 million living in the tiny Gaza Strip, life has become increasingly desperate because of Israel\'s continuing blockade, backed by Egypt and with no effective challenge from governments around the world. The blockade has brought electricity cuts of 16 hours a day, The electricity shortages have severely affected almost all essential services, including health, water, sanitation and schooling. Many houses have been burnt in blazes caused by unattended candles or circuited house electric generators. Solid waste disposal is severely disrupted due to fuel shortages and with waste plants and water refineries not operational, people have to drink highly toxic water either salinated or mixed with sewage.
Amidst all the limitations, Gazans struggle to survive and thus innovation has become their answer to imposed embargo.

As human rights abuses by israel are on the rise, Tel Aviv is set to join the UN Human rights Council. The irony has not been missed, as currently Israel is threatening to expel 70 thousand Bedouins from the Negev Desert who have lived on the land for at least a thousand year. Many see Israel being part of the UN Human Rights Council as problematic. This as Tel Aviv continues its siege on the Gaza Strip and Gazans have very little energy sources, clean water or proper sewage system.

Egyptian security forces have once again clashed with supporters of ousted president Mohammad Morsi.
An anti-government protest rally was held near the defense ministry headquarters in Cairo. Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of pro-Morsi students who had blocked a nearby road. Similar clashes broke out between police and pro-Morsi students in the Nile Delta city of Zakazik and the city of Alexandria where two demonstrators was killed and several others were injured by live rounds. The protesters demand Morsi\'s reinstatement. Egypt has seen deadly protests following Morsi\'s ouster by the military back in July. Meanwhile, students of Cairo\'s al-Azhar university have called for mass rallies in the city\'s iconic Liberation Square on Friday.

In southern Somali town of Jowhar, hundreds of families and farmers have been displaced after a river burst its banks in Middle Shabelle region. Those highly affected are the internally displaced persons. Many villages and farms have remained under water as sanitation system has collapsed. The displaced families also raise safety concern posed by stagnant water in many of the affected camps. The local administration says that at least 22 people have been killed due to the floods. Many of the victims are said to be young children. We toured the town to witness the scale of the flooding. In one of the camps, we met this old woman Sahra Mahad, who says she has lived there for six years.

Iran says inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the I-A-E-A, will visit the country\'s Arak heavy-water plant this coming Sunday.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran says the visit comes in response to a request by the I-A-E-A. It also says this will be in line with Tehran\'s goodwill gesture to remove ambiguities over Iran\'s nuclear energy program. Tehran says the I-A-E-A\'s request is based on an accord reached between the Islamic Republic and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany in Geneva last month. It will be the third time I-A-E-A inspectors will visit Arak\'s heavy water reactor.

Turkish police have used water cannons and smoke grenades against Kurdish protesters angry at Ankara\'s plans to erect a wall near the border with Syria.
The clashes took place in the south-eastern Kurdish town of Jizre. Kurdish protesters say the wall divides them from family members on the Syrian side of the border. Turkey began the construction of the wall last month in Nusaybin, a border district north of the Syrian town of Qamishli. Ankara says it\'s concerned with the spillover of violence from northern Syria. However, the Turkish government is a staunch supporter of insurgents in Syria providing them with arms, training and shelter.
